As I write my book exploring whether scientific experimentation can be automated, I once again come back to Duhem's good sense, about 20 years since I wrote my dissertation on it, later to evolve into my first journal article and eventually this book.

Fantastic paper which captures so much of what I have also found deeply problematic behind the misplaced narratives on the promises of GenAI in education. Absolute must read.

By drawing on moralism debate in philosophy of art and the argument from the imaginative resistance, I offer conditions under which we can find value in AI generated art, despite our moral objections to AI.

Thank you so much <3
Excited to see more #PhilSci scholars employing diverse methodologies in their work. To that end, in our paper we used qualitative data analysis to understand the role of surprise in science.

I draw inspiration from the beautiful piece BECAUSE OF YOU created by @eryk.bsky.social and @evijit.io who direct us to engage with the tension and discomfort at the use of the technology, creatting and letting us overcome our imaginative resistance www.cyberneticforests.com/news/because...
Is #AIart really art? The end of art? Bad art? I explore how artistic exploitation, data bias and environmental cost can prevent us from engaging with AI art. Yet, I argue that artists can employ this immorality well, helping us overcome our imaginative resistance. link.springer.com/article/10.1...
It is such a brilliant piece and I continue to feel very moved by it, so many months after first encountering it. Everywhere I have shared and discussed your work with others, they have felt the same ❤️ I hope the paper does it justice.
Thank you Anna, I am so happy to hear this!
Happy Earth Day 💚 Today is a good opportunity for us all to pause and think about our relationship to nature, new technologies and the future of our planet. I hope you enjoy this piece, I tried to be optimistic. #earthday2025 #AI #AIethics
What could providing students with knowledge and skills to support climate justice look like in the context of AI development and deployment? Read my reflections on the Importance of Environmental AI Ethics for Earth Day #AI #Earthday @cfi-cambridge.bsky.social

Should environmental interests feature in the development and deployment of #AI ? Can feminism inform our answers to this question? At the Rosalind Franklin Women in STEM Conference I look into what a promising Integrated Environmental AI Ethics could look like 💚@newnhamcollege.bsky.social
Excited to go back to my HPS roots with this new Unit I designed on all things Henri Poincare! From conventionalism, structuralism, values in science, creativity, aesthetics, he continues to be my biggest inspiration and I can't wait to teach this course in the Fall www.ice.cam.ac.uk/course/under...
So honored that my work was mentioned on ABC National in Australia! AoS comes in around 7:30min 💗 www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...
I really loved making this book with the wonderful @srdfrench.bsky.social and am so happy others value it. So grateful to Chiara Ambrosio for writing this review, which bring me to tears every time I read it (and I do read it often enough in my impostur moments).

I am thrilled to be part of the Rosalind Franklin STEM Conference at Newnham College dedicated to the question: What’s next for Green Energy?
In my talk 'Energy, ethics and sustainability' I will be exploring the ecological cost of AI and present a new integrated approach to environmental AI ethics.
Happy birthday Emily, have a fabulous day!
I will be keynote at the Open Minds Conference at the University of Manchester, an event supporting Masters and PhD students in all areas of philosophy in their academic journey. Please consider participating and spread the word.

I am very excited to be keynote speaker for this amazing conference on The Role of Technology in Illustration, the call for papers is still open for those interested in participating in this debate with a diverse range of practitioners

Walked passed it today and had to stop and marvel at it <3
I am so sad to hear that Micheal Friedman has passed away. It is hard to put into words how much impact he made on our field. His Dynamics of Reason inspired my PhD thesis, which he later examined, offering invaluable guidance. He led with so much kindness and generosity, great loss for our field.
I am so sorry to hear this, he did so much for our field and led with so much kindness.
