Note, there were only two units like this in the plane and I got one of them. The other business class seats had less space. I usually avoid A1 of the plane because it’s against the bulkhead, but in this case, WORTH IT! 😊
I can’t believe this is JetBlue. 😮I’ve flown first class on Emirates and Qatar Airways (both were Dreamliners) and the space here was comparable. It was basically a whole room! It was a nice a five and half hour flight, heehee.

This is Achrioptera manga, a giant phasmid or stick insect native to Madagascar.
The specific epithet, "manga" means blue in Malagasy & it's not hard to see why. Only males are blue.
The tiny back wings ("alae") are an example of brachyptery: they're useless for flight, but have other functions.

Nnedi touching a tarantula hawk
I am one of those people who likes to touch everything. This was my chance to safely touch a tarantula hawk (if you're squeamish, beware if you google this insect, lol, truly), so I did! I also touched a camel spider, goliath beetle, and a toe biter, 😆.
A preserved brown version of the katydid on my t-shirt beside a preserved cockroach, large grasshopper, water bug and cicada.
The first thing the two entomologists did when I met them was find the katydid on my t-shirt. Here it is (the brown one), heehee. All three of us were very pleased.

I got to spend some time in the Division of Entomology at Yale Peabody Museum today. The entomologists I met...I definitely found some of my people, 😃! Got to see so many insects up close that I have only dreamed of seeing in person (albeit...preserved). And my t-shirt was purely coincidental, lol!!

That shop has been there since 1968 and is owed by the daughter of the original owner.
Walked into this shop and just stood there for about ten minutes taking it all in. The place is full of VERY authentic African masks I know NOT to buy no matter how cool they are, 😁 (I’ve learned that lesson the hard way).
I love this campus, 😆.
