Clearly, whoever designed today’s NYT spelling bee game has never heard Springsteen’s song “Spirit In The Night”.

Chronologically accurate given that Pittsburgh hosts one of the largest Furry conventions in the country over the July 4th holiday every year.

A similar screenshot of the NYT Connections board, but four specific tiles have been selected. The selected tiles are highlighted with a dark charcoal background and white text: BRUCE, AMERICAN FLAG, JEANS, and BUTT. One of the "Mistakes Remaining" dots is now grayed out, indicating three attempts left. This selection appears to reference the visual elements of the album cover shown in the third image.

The iconic cover art for Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 album, Born in the U.S.A. The image is a close-up, back-view shot of a man (Springsteen) wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. A red baseball cap is tucked into his back right pocket, positioned over his butt. He stands in front of the red and white horizontal stripes of an American flag. The text at the top reads "BORN IN THE U.S.A. / BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN" in a blue serif font.

A digital screenshot of a word-association puzzle game titled "Create four groups of four!" The screen displays a 4x4 grid of light-colored rectangular tiles, each containing a word or phrase in bold, black capital letters.
• Row 1: BRUCE, AMERICAN FLAG, BUMP, SPIKE
• Row 2: JEANS, BUTT, BALD EAGLE, RAM
• Row 3: BASEBALL, ANG, OCEAN, APPLE PIE
• Row 4: CHRISTOPHER, LAPIS LAZULI, KNOCK, SKY
At the bottom, it shows "Mistakes Remaining:" followed by four dark circles. There are three rounded buttons: "Shuffle," "Deselect All," and "Submit."

#Springsteen fans: the obvious connection on today’s @nytimes connections board is apparently NOT an answer despite being an obvious connection.

Springsteen - Statement Songs

In reaction to Bruce Springsteen’s release of “Streets of Minneapolis” today, someone suggested he make a whole album.

Here’s a 26 song, 2 hours long double album:

Is there a link to that discussion? I’d love to see what he said about it. I always assumed he would do another solo acoustic tour which could be a blend of his Broadway show and his Tom Joad/Devils & Dust shows. If he did them in 3,000 seat theatres, it would be perfect.

Hi Paul! You’ve been on the list for awhile. Always enjoyed your posts. I like your prediction of a Seeger Sessions type tour! I know the record and tour did better in Europe than in the US. I hope that means he’ll play smaller venues in the US than the outdoor amphitheaters he did on that tour

Since everyone seems to be posting 2016 pix. Here’s one from the opening night of his tour. Today is the 10th anniversary. #springsteen

He knows the facility. They wouldn’t have to pay for relocation expenses.

To see someone pass Mario as the all time #Penguins leading scorer was unthinkable. And he couldn’t be passed by a better player & human.

I said they shouldn’t play him to my brother before the game started. We could have lost this game 110-10 and it wouldn’t have mattered. 😉

Favorite line from “Deliver Me From Nowhere” movie:

Record exec: “what, is he working on releasing his outtakes?”

Jon Landau (sarcastically): “yeah, like that would ever happen.”

Say it ain’t so Bruce! I mean, a scene or two in #pittsburgh would have sufficed. #clahdyahtinpittsburgh

I assumed it would be the same protocol as the NFL where the home team can make their choice.
