Here's the thing about using AI for lit reviews ... If you've actually read the scholarship, writing the lit review yourself isn't that taxing. But what's gonna happen is folks will use AI to save themselves having to *read* the scholarship, which will then make the rest of their article trash.

Thinking on something @beaubaumann.bsky.social said yesterday. There would be less acrimony in the legal academy if folks developed expertise, workshopped ideas, and incorporated criticism into their work. That's the process of doing scholarship, but it doesn't work when you're chasing litigation.

Defamation is a fancy way of saying “he lied about me and hurt my reputation.” If the statement is a fact or opinion, it’s not defamation. So, “you probably deserved it” isn’t defamation while “I heard you deserved it” could be.
