I wouldn't be surprised if investigators and journalists find some really shady shit on Netanyahu in the wreckage of the Orban government. Remember that Orban and Netanyahu have worked together since the early 2000s, possibly even 1990s.

Trump’s tariffs ruled unconstitutional. Court says the tariffs must be repaid. Republicans say they will only repay corporations, not consumers. Funny how it is always a win-win for corporations.

Spain launches €7bn housing plan to tackle rent crisis Spain's government on Tuesday approved a sweeping plan to alleviate the country's housing problem, one of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's main political vulnerabilities ahead of next year's elections.

Well done Spain.
"The new plan, worth €7 billion, triples government investment in public housing over the next four years. It ensures that subsidised housing cannot be reclassified after a few years. It also includes help for young renters and home buyers"

Reading the FT front page story about a Chinese company introducing a battery with a 1500 km range & six minute recharging time & about how two Chinese companies own more than half of the global EV battery market & I am struck by the different realities the US and China occupy. We’ve lost the plot.

There is a complete discord between US news and the rest of the world. 3 different international news agencies report that Iran will not entertain any negotiations until the blockade of Iranian ports is lifted.

Do not believe anything the regime in the US is telling you.

This Isn't Trading. It's Theft from Your Retirement. Someone keeps making perfectly-timed bets right before the President speaks. The victims are your pension, your 401(k), and the country I took an oath to defend.

Fifteen minutes before the President announced he was pausing strikes on Iran, somebody moved $500 million in oil futures. Somebody knew. Somebody told them. Or somebody is them.

In February 1777, General George Washington ordered the first mass immunization campaign in American history by mandating that his troops be inoculated against smallpox. He protected the Continental Army from an epidemic that was deadlier than British forces.

249 years later, we have this idiot.

French polymath Clémence Royer was born 196 years ago today. Now she is most known for her 1862 translation of On the Origin of Species which pushed Darwin's ideas into the realm of human evolution, but in her day she was celebrated for her encyclopedic knowledge.

My photo shows a Paleo-Babylonian clay tablet inscribed with cuneiform text, still partially enclosed in its original clay envelope. The clay is pale orangey-brown in colour displayed against a grey display case background. The outer envelope has been broken open, revealing the inner tablet beneath. Both surfaces are covered with densely packed wedge-shaped characters, which record a contract for the sale of a house purchased by Mannum-balu-Samas at the price of 1/3 shekel and 15 grains of silver. This is followed by the names of the numerous witnesses including the mayor Sin-magir and the courier Apil-ilisu. The same text is repeated on the envelope in the event of a dispute, which was broken to inspect the internal document. It is dated 32nd year of Hammurabl's reign, 10th month, c. 1750 BC. The clay envelope measures 87 mm (height) × 55 mm (width), while the inner tablet measures 64 mm (height) × 43 mm (width). On display at the Museum of Antiquity in Turin. Collection number MAT 740.

The concept of a "Trump Christian" is fundamentally inconsistent with true Christian values. A genuine Christian cannot align with Trump's principles, as they often contradict the teachings of Christ. It is essential to refrain from associating the terms "Christian" and "Trump."

Electric car sales soar 51% in mainland Europe as Iran war drives up fuel prices Data shows 224,000 new EVs were registered in March, with Norway leading way in terms of switching

If you are buying a new car now, why go for the (more expensive) polluting option?

EVs are now on average cheaper to buy than ICEs, and definitely lower on running costs. They are nicer to drive and better for the environment.

"Until 31 May, the Orbán puppets may voluntarily step down from their positions. This applies to the President of Hungary, the President of the Curia, the President of the National Office for the Judiciary, the President of the Constitutional Court, and the Prosecutor General.
On 12 April, the Hungarian people voted for a complete political transformation.
If these officials do not step down voluntarily by 31 May, then — on the basis of the mandate received from millions of Hungarians — we will remove them from office."
