While Trump takes the podium, we’re centering the people living the consequences of his agenda: families, workers, immigrants, young people fighting for their future.

Well I guess I get 40 minutes back on my calendar because my 1:1 meeting partner didn’t show up. On the one hand, 40 minutes back. On the other hand, I could have taken today off.
A bird on a carpet at an airport
This guy is living his best life. No rent, AC and heat, free food. Down side is all the foot traffic. #airportadventures
If I can smell your perfume/cologne through my mask, you’re wearing too much #airportadventures
A lighted sink at an airport with a vase of fresh flowers
Took me maybe 15 minutes to make it through TSA from start to finish. This was the restroom right before TSA. There was a staff person putting in fresh flowers. #AirportAdventures
First time flying through TF Green airport, which was voted the best airport in the country by Travel and Leisure. Definitely less stressful than flying through Logan #AirportAdventures
@allelitewrestling.com Where can I watch without getting bombarded with ICE recruitment ads?
I’ve watched AEW since Day One six years ago and I was appalled that HBO would run ICE ads during Dynamite. I sent my feedback. Not interested in watching Dynamite, Collision, or PPVs on HBO if this continues.
Didn't like seeing that ICE/Gestapo ad on tbs/max? Let them know. Takes 90 seconds. #Aew
Having construction happening in the office one floor below ours is one thing. Having them hammering into the ceiling downstairs, which is our floor, is a whole new level of hell unlocked.
Fun thing to explain to faculty who are here doing office hours that this is slated to go to mid-Oct. 🙃
Day three of no HVAC in my office is going to continue through tomorrow. 🫠
So interesting and disturbing that states have moved to ban equity interventions instead of requiring institutions to provide data on the effectiveness of equity interventions. That should be the convo that we’re having.
Every time IT comes to my office (unannounced, mind you), it is never an easy fix.
I had 3 hours today that wasn’t booked with orientation programming. And now I’ve spent about an hour of that time with the IT folks. I just want to be able to print wirelessly.

I would love to just have a work day where I don’t have to deal with emails or messages and I could feel like I’m making actual progress on my to do list and not treading water trying to keep from drowning. 🙃🫠
Moment of Higher Ed Joy: hosting a regional high school GSA meeting on campus and having the president of your university stop in to welcome all of the attendees. #HigherEdJoy #DEIJoy #QueerJoy
MIT following Harvard's lead here
Not former potus saying Harvard has set a precedent for other universities and I have to hold myself back from mentioning Wesleyan, Georgetown law, Rutgers faculty senate, etc. What we're not gonna do is erase the Jesuits! Sigh, let me reread Elite Capture.
1. The Department of Health and Human Services has launched a national "snitch form" to report gender affirming care providers.
The last few times state Republicans did this, they were overloaded with memes and Bee Movie scripts.

At some point, I’ll get a good paper or conference presentation out of some of this office-of-one stress.
One huge saving grace is that I have amazing colleagues across divisions.
Nothing like being back to back and triple booked the day before your office hosts a conference for high school kiddos.
When elected officials see mass protests and then immediately adjust their behavior in response, that is a good thing. That's how this should work!
Celebrate Blumenthal for this. And then ask your own Dem senator what they're doing. And what Schumer is doing.
I’m at the True Colors LGBTQIA+ youth conference drag show. The drag queen hosting the show just told the crowd that we respect consent body autonomy here. She’s a former youth attendee. ❤️ 🌈
My one health challenge this year? I need to eat more leafy green vegetables. So it looks like fruit smoothies are going back into the rotation.
I had my results back. Everything looking good, the first time in YEARS my bloodwork has been this normal. It’s as though having access to good medical care, having a good job with good benefits, and being in a place where education and research are valued has direct benefits.
I’m very appreciative for the good quality of medical care that is relatively close by. I’m glad for my union job with good benefits that allow for good quality regular and preventative care.
Yesterday, I got bloodwork done at my hospital’s local phlebotomy location. Before the end of the day,
I had my first eye exam today since the one in 2023 where I had an allergic reaction to the dilating eye drops. This Dr. was kind, knowledgeable and thorough. My exam was done with care and comprehension. My eyes are doing well, the past procedures have brought certain measures into a normal range.
