Almost half of the US voted for him BECAUSE he is cruel and inhumane. That is the reality of it.

It seems to me they want someone else to make decisions for them. A desire not to have to think.

Although I tried to change their minds, many of my daughter’s 25 year old(ish) friends didn’t vote because they didn’t like either candidate.

These same friends now call themselves “apolitical”. They also say the current administration is not any worse than previous administrations.

What strikes me the most is the realization that the America I cherished and was proud of no longer exists.

This isn't going to stop. This country is a powder keg about to blow and this is just a sign of it. You cannot move this quickly to dismantle democracy and expect people not to react.
