I've been retired for just long enough to not have needed to know (in depth) about how AI is being integrated, but I suspect the 'ol "Garbage in; garbage out" axiom applies here. That and lots of stress testing; pier review etc.
Yes, and therein lies my fear! I am a retired web software developer (the kind of pages/sites that have dynamic content, driven by conditional scripting on databases) and I never cease to be aghast at the sloppiness of what I see now. AI could be very helpful in this, but only if properly guided!
