All federally elected Politicians should be classified as "at will" employees and paid by the hour with no politician earning more than the average hourly wage in there own state.
Also no politician should be eligible for health care any better than the average for the state they rep.

A lot of historical authoritarian regimes ultimately foundered because there are upper limits to how much brutality human enforcers are willing to carry out on a broad civilian resistance that includes their family and old classmates.
