Thank you! 😊

Thank you!
Yeah, it's a shame that the series was discontinued :(
That would be such a cool device to make a demake for :D
It actually is! Together with some other games. Its it's own thing, but I really liked Infinity Blade back then and Gloom Gate has some of Infinity Blades spirit in it!
Thanks for the advice!
If you remeber the name of that game, please let me know! 😊
It's a mix of different things:
There is a little bit of Dark Souls,
a little bit of Infinity Blade,
a little bit of Punch Out!,
and a little bit of other games.
And since this game is for the Playdate, it's all pocket sized and perfect to play on the go 😊
I use an app with a hardware tracker. Its a cube that has different faces for different things like code/art/sound and so on. And whatever side is facing up, thats gonna get tracked :D It's pretty neat
For all the new people here, I made a silly trailer for Gloom Gate some weeks ago 😅

Oh thats so kind! I can confirm that the Playdate has a massive amount of unique and really, really cool games!
Still not the final player or background, but parrying and attacking the enemy was possible.
Thank you for traveling back in time a bit with me 😊
Here I've added a player model from Mixamo and limited the perspective change to left and right
Here is one of the actual enemies I used for the game. But the dithering was too noisy, so I had to work on the shader a little
More info about that here: bsky.app/profile/lubu...
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 🌪️
Here is an pre-rendered 3D enemy from Mixamo. I wanted to see if it can be possible to circle around the enemy (it was not, because of the limited memory size on the playdate)
I've collected some GIFs from the beginning of the project, where I experimented a lot.
Here I used sprites I grabbed from the internet (sorry) as placeholder graphics. The background is rendered in blender
A time tracking statistic, showing 469 hours and 7 minutes
I already poured 469 hours into that project and I (almost) enjoyed every one of it 😄
Honestly, it's a project that I really enjoy working on and luckily there is still a lot to do! 😅
Today, exactly 1 year ago, I started a new project, that later became Gloom Gate. It began as a little experiment with pre-rendered backgrounds and it evolved into a full grown game-dev project I'm really proud of!

It makes me so happy that the Playdate is still the home of so many cool, creative and fun new games!
(also, my face is in this video for 14 frames. Hehe!)

My friends at @pipapogames.bsky.social are working on their first game called "Map Map". It has a really cool and unique mechanic, and Genshin Impact just copied pretty much the whole thing just before Map Map got released. 😨

Yes! 😊
(But I unfortunately won't be at the next Indie Treff 😭)
Congrats! I've read your reddit post about your Froggy's Battle development back then and followed you since and I'm so glad that all your hard work payed off ✨
I have 300 open tickets on my project 🥲
I was in the same situation. And in the beginning I always went there with a friend, so I'm not alone. And after a while I got to know so many people that I always have someone to talk to now 😊

Presenting you with these ancient photos of how I "fixed" my headphones ~10 years ago. Turned out surprisingly comfy!
🥴
I have some Puma shoes, and they have the exact same problem. I was wondering why they became unwearable pretty quickly 😩
