For most of my medical career, pancreatic cancer had a 5 year survival of 5-10%. For the current US administration to cut funding for mRNA vaccine research is staggeringly stupid.

Lt Gen Susan Coyle: Who is the first female in history to lead the Australian army? Lieutenant General Coyle has held a number of senior roles, and became the first female to command Joint Task Force 633 in the Middle East

Lt Gen Susan Coyle to be the first female Chief of the Australian Army.

What's significant about this is, yes she's the first woman, but the experience she brings that makes her so relevant for the job in today's geopolitics of info warfare, cyber, space, & ...

I have seen a lot of NIMBY selfishness in my time, but "my convenience matters more than cancer care" is a new low. Quite seriously tempted to email them and tell them as much.

I’m begging BBC News to actually display some actual and justified cynicism to Trump’s declarations.

‘There may still be a chance of a deal. Trump has said he’s taken a call from the Iranians…’

Trump has said this dozens of times and is constantly lying. This isn’t hard to report!

A classic Mail headline with more dog whistles than a sheepdog trial.

Playing Far Right Media Myth Whack-a-Mole is a job which makes the labours of Sisyphus look easy and @monkemma.bsky.social must be congratulated (and followed), for persisting with it.

I'm one of those trans women. I worked ground ops for Artemis I.

I am torn between celebrating the success of my friends and peers and grieving how my dream of working for NASA was shattered by hateful assholes in Tallahassee

We are the ones who insisted that NATO defense obligations be geographically limited to the defense of Europe and North America, because we did not want to be dragged into defending European empires around the world.

We used to joke in Europe that the American OODA loop is Observe, Overreact, Destroy, Apologise but I think it might now be Overcompensate, Obfuscate, Denigrate, Annihilate

I just want to emphasize, if indeed war crimes are committed by the United States military then everyone from the decision makers to those who pull the trigger for each individual crime must face justice. Those in power must refuse such illegal orders even if it costs them their jobs.

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.

<reads history notes> Didn't the last attempt to bomb an adversary 'back to the stone age' end in a chaotic helicopter retreat from an embassy roof? Or did those air strikes take out the hubris first?

The worst thing is when you decide to have a baby and many companies make you take a long stretch of paid maternity and paternity leave so you can focus on caring for your precious new born. Absolute nightmare.

March of last year — Russian state TV said “Trumpushka” would “fulfill Moscow’s dreams” by cutting off Ukraine, destroying foreign relations & NATO, disrupting 🇺🇸 government, lifting Russian sanctions…

How’d they do? 🤷🏼 (H/T @JuliaDavisNews)
