Haven’t been on Bluesky in months. Came back today and was called a fascist and accused of being “pro-trump”. Both of which couldn’t be further from the truth. Let’s not throw away one echo chamber for another.

Ha. Tapping out. I have eyes and ears and I trust them. I wanted the guy to win. But, they didn’t put him in front of a camera unscripted for years. No unscripted appearances for years too. These are facts. He seems like a great guy and was a good president. But he never should have run again.

Dems lost the election by a few percentage points in a handful of key states. It’s not Biden is old. It’s he wasn’t well enough to be an effective opponent against Trump. Better, less deceitful decisions made by a handful of people may have led to a Dems victory. Saving us all from Trump.

I don’t think a major news outlet should mimic an online shopping channel. I also don’t believe that Biden, and his decision to run and hang on to power is irrelevant. It’s an important and legitimate story to tell. Especially given the outcomes resultant from those decisions.

Also. The story isn’t “Biden is old” the story is that a team of people hid the failing health of a president in order to meet their own needs and wants. Well intentioned or not, it was a deceitful and disastrous thing to do.

Both Tapper and Thompson on record saying that no one would speak to the media before the election, but afterwards they had over 200 people come forward. Maybe this is why the book and reporting on the subject is only coming out now?

Kamala was a couple of percentage points away in some key states from winning. ONLY blaming oligarchs (and fuck those guys) lets others who played a hand in this disaster off the hook. More than one lesson can be learned form this.

Agree. Trump is the worst and genuinely dangerous. Biden, and his team, made a series of decisions that contributed to a Trump win. One can believe both things at once.

The reaction on here to the Tapper book on Biden is completely nuts to me. People “on our side” let us down, were deceitful and put their own interests above those of the party and of their country. A proper autopsy of the campaign is, and was, completely necessary.

Biden being allowed to run again made it easier for Trump to win. Not because he was old, but because he wasn’t fit enough to do the job. I stand by this. I am the opposite of pro-trump. I wanted them to win. I want them to always win. I don’t want them to make the same mistakes again.
