Generalising here, but the creative arts are still often considered frivolous by a public which spends billions enjoying them, and a government doing very little to protect them.

I LOVE using the library. My local is tiny but thanks to the Greenwich interlibrary loans service I can get my hands on pretty much any book I fancy. Bloody marvellous!

As a trained performer, I know I’m at an advantage when going into schools. Having said that, delivering a great visit is about so much more than being comfortable in front of an audience. It took me ages to feel truly confident in my material and even now, 150+ visits later, I’m still learning.
I feel there is a lack of podcasts out there to showcase the work of UK Children’s & YA authors. Booklings Chat does just that. - if you are an author and would like to be on the show let me know!
