Anarchy reigns in Sovereign Tower’s willfully weird Arthurian dating and management RPG - The Wand Report Wild Wits Games hands you the keys to a kingdom in Sovereign Tower and then scarpers once you become responsible for its citizens’ happiness.

"Goberto, a perpetually armoured cliff of a man, gets a bonus for being equipped with cheese. Fill his bag with Wensleydale, point him towards the entrail-eating rabbit that’s been terrorising local villagers, and witness history being made."

Ah, awesome! I can't remember the last time I wanted to mine a game of every collectable and secret... It's a goodie.

Oh wow - I don't think I've had a copy for more than a decade now. I remember the black-and-white look feeling so striking at the time. I think you'll LOVE Pragmata - it's definitely on the same wavelength.

Take that, AI bros.

Thank you! Glad that reference resonated with someone else. Pragmata has so much of that era's energy, but feels like a modern triple-A version of it. It's bloody wonderful.

PRAGMATA Review - The Wand Report PRAGMATA Review - Capcom invokes the golden era of momentum-driven third-person shooters with a brand-new IP which feels like an instant classic.

"Pragmata makes you feel absolutely awesome in the moment, formidable and ingenious all at once. The game evokes the character of distinctive Xbox 360/PS3/GC era shooters such as P.N.03, Binary Domain, or Vanquish. It’s a welcome return to a highpoint for the genre."

Unfortunately, there comes a time in every young man-with-an Alien-movie-obsessed-dad's life when he must endure Alien Resurrection's sickening slapstick.

All Will Fall Review - The Wand Report All Will Fall Review - All Parts Connected blends survival and physics-based construction to create a bright-and-breezy Frostpunk.

"A worker with a broken leg could be treated with precious supplies, or could disappear at more or less the same time that your food stores are mysteriously bolstered. Harper may have been a clumsy whiner, but it turns out that he was a TASTY clumsy whiner."

Third one ticked off, along with a rare opportunity to witness someone experience for the first time the crushing disappointment of Newt, Hicks, and Bishop's fate at the hands of Fincher.

Wyldheart embraces co-op chaos for a rustic take on the fantasy action RPG - The Wand Report Wyldheart hands-on preview - Former DICE devs draw inspiration from lesser-known tabletop games to craft something fresh but familiar.

"One of our party barricades the doors we came through to try and stem the flow of mobs... With cat-like reactions, I fire an arrow straight into their back by mistake and then change into one of the new hats I’ve just found. It’s pretty fetching, actually."

Over The Top: WW1 Review - The Wand Report Over The Top: WW1 Review - Flying Squirrel Entertainment delivers chaotic, large-scale battles with a generous dash of gallows-humour silliness.

“Bonjour, le petit croissant! Où est la piscine!” shouts one player next to me as he charges up and over the trench wall just before being turned into viscera by a mortar strike."

I mean, other than the bit where the chestburster scoots across the floor, the bit where the xenomorph is bobbing in space near the shuttle thrusters, and the detonation of the Nostromo, the film still looks incredible in every scene. Cass even commented on it looking great for such an old film ☺️

Yeah - we recently finished all three series of Squid Game, and that's FAR more gory and disturbing than the first Alien. Cass loved it, and didn't even mind any of the more dated effects. We'll do Aliens next, and then I'll see about Alien 3. It's a bit darker...
