1/ I was planning to write the usual “health weather report” this week. But after what happened over the weekend, that didn’t feel right. The U.S. just experienced the deadliest mass shooting in more than two years, and no one is talking about it. But this NEEDS to be talked about🧵

Yet again I remind everyone (as Elizabeth does in her very next tweet) that "foreigners are corrupting our pure blood with weakness & disease" is Fascism 101. Not some variant, not some metaphorically similar thing, not some echo -- the thing itself.
Truly when @maxgladstone.bsky.social & I wrote the book to ostensibly contain the multiverse we did not foresee it finding a mirror in the world of its reception
I have to admit I haven’t eaten a lot of Southern food.
Some of them chose to go with the job because they only had a few years left till retirement. I know one guy kept his house here. He was not happy about it, but I think they needed him there.
No, thank you. We traveled down to NC on vacation, but I don’t really remember much about it.
That’s so hard. I’m sorry.
Your best bet for a happy tree long term
Is to pick the right tree for the right place
(This includes not planting invasive species like Tree of Heaven, which is helping fuel the spotted lanternfly issue in the US)
Company I worked for set up a data center in Tennessee, near Nashville, and invited people to express interest. (Some jobs were transferring, and I know a few people who weren’t happy, but went.) it’s in the Bible Belt, so I couldn’t even think of it. I think people got to keep their salaries.
Considering planting a tree for earth day? 🌍
I beg you, remember that trees grow. Sometimes very big!
Please don't plant a tree that can reach 70 feet under a power line
Maybe don't plant a River Birch in a dry area (the name is a hint!)
Don't plant a tree that grows 8' wide 2' from your house
We are looking at a painting of St Liphardus - a 6th-century lawyer, hermit and abbot in Meung-sur-Loire near Orléans, France. He is wearing bishops clothing including a surplus and mitre and is holding a crook. On a lead is a small knee high green and blue dragon.
We’re very sorry sir but you cannot bring your emotional support dragon in here.
close! it's a Threadless shop - here's a link if any of you are interested (with other designs too) I HAVE SPOKEN

I’ve stopped going to theaters. I don’t stop drinking the night before, but I drink very little and I don’t eat before the movie. At home, we have a meal, and I can take a break.
Oh, thank you. I don’t expect all to be perfect. I do have hoopla, but have a bad habit of forgetting to look. I usually prefer to read on my kindle, but it’s always nicer not to wait.
In other words, I should at least check out the first book.
How about a femur with a titanium rod?
She is awful and should be fired but man that is three women out of the Cabinet and not a single guy
Yeah, I will get what I can there, but it’s definitely not everything.
Which is why people still order from Amazon.
I see Rath and Pryde also on her website.
Yeah, so I thought maybe a demon? But no, he’s a duke. Sounds like a historical with an off putting name.
Sometimes I order from Costco.com, but the prices are definitely higher online than in the store.
I have no clue. Some of the stores around here have closed because a lot of people moved to ordering online, and it was exacerbated by the pandemic.
I find it frustrating to have to look at company sites where I have to pay more than expected for shipping, or buy more for free shipping.
They still have discovery issues.
I appreciate that you aren’t limiting access. They probably think that you aren’t aware, or should be trying to maximize profit, and are trying to help. I think most KU readers stick to KU, so it doesn’t mean more readers in the long run, unless you stay there.
That makes a lot of sense. I rarely remember to check out the sample, which is a problem. If someone recommends a book that is not on sale (with higher prices), I try to send a sample to check it out. Or at least serve as a placeholder for me to notice later.
But I get what people say about KU..
Very possibly, which is why KU does well. I think it works because it doesn’t cost readers anything to try your book, but it is limiting. I’m just glad that I can still buy books that are in KU.
My aunt used to get the aura, but I don’t think she had full-blown migraines. I used to get what I called sick headaches, but I think they were due to allergies.
But being so miserable beforehand seems extra unfair.
CNN put together a montage of Trump saying as far back as March 9 that his war against Iran "is going to be finished pretty quickly," then him saying that same thing over and over for the past six weeks
That’s miserable.
