The famous ant of the Sahara, the Saharan silver ant Cataglyphis bombycina, is truly beautiful! It’s hard to capture their silvery color in photos.

The highlight of my 2025 was successfully rearing and documenting the life cycle of the squeak beetle (Hygrobia hermanni). Its larvae roam along the bottom of the water and feed on naidid worms (Naididae).
