Fear is a powerful emotion that keeps us from experiencing or trying new things. What people fear often is what coincidentally gives nudists the most joy. Being socially nude in the company of others often strikes fear while we take joy in sharing our nude philosophy with others.
Growing up in "purity culture" @sarahmexicochrist.bsky.social was taught that her body was sinful and her problem. It was nudism that helped her deconstruct all of that.

Yeah, but the scene depicted us as dirty, disgusting, and clueless. I admit the humorous irony of the situation was good for us nudists, when you stop to consider it, but the rest was just more cheap laughs at our expense. Not exactly good PR!
