The World Cup is coming. So is congestion and pollution. A call from our president, Johan Andrade, on the need for getting Hudson County World-Cup-ready with quick build bus lanes, bike lanes, and pedestrian corridors before it's too late.

@runsascoded.com updated his visualization, showing the efficiency of different modes of transit between NYC-NJ. Lincoln tunnel bus lane is the winner - and it only operates for 3 hrs a day! Investment in private vehicle infrastructure, is not a good use of state or city resources.

We're now 4 months away from the NJ e-bike regulations going into effect. I only have until July 19th to buy the required insurance for my @ternbicycles.com GSD.

Let me reference @peopleforbikes.bsky.social's excellent FAQ to review my insurance options.

I know... It's boring, but so far this year; 80 dead on New Jersey roads including 27 pedestrians and 1 cyclist, every single one killed, either in or by being hit by a car

eBikes are not the problem

Still no response from Gopal/Donlon/Peterpaul

Bike JC stands in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors and those seeking refuge in Jersey City. We watched ICE’s activity in our city this week with horror when agents targeted hard-working people who use the 9th Street elevator to bring bikes between Hoboken and Jersey City Heights.

ā€œ.. He cared about people deeply ..,ā€ said Michael Pretti, Alex’s father. ā€œHe thought it was terrible, you know, kidnapping children, just grabbing people off the street. He cared about those people, and he knew it was wrong ..ā€

It's the 9am peak on a weekday morning, and there is no congestion to be seen on the Newark Bay Bridge. There's the usual congestion at the Lincoln Tunnel.

$6B for two new bridges is the wrong way to spend precious dollars. One bridge, not two, and we can invest billions in transit instead.

In one of his final acts, Murphy pardoned son of Democratic power broker The driver, the son of a powerful attorney, was pardoned the same day he was found guilty in a fatal hit-and-run.

Outgoing NJ governor Phil Murphy pardoned a killer driver on his last day in office. The driver was the son of a powerful South Jersey Democratic boss. That looks pretty corrupt to me. A killer hit-and-run driver, who stuck and killed a pedestrian. www.nj.com/politics/202...

Katie Brennan, a white woman with long red hair, smiles widely and holds up a book titled THE PEOPLE OF JERSEY CITY AND HOBOKEN

Rather than a religious text, newly-minted New Jersey Assemblywoman Katie Brennan, a progressive who beat a million-dollar spending disadvantage and the full force of the Hudson County machine, was sworn in on a printout of her district's entire universe of registered voters

New NJ law to require insurance and registration of all e-bikes is likely to get final vote in state Assembly and Senate on Monday or Tuesday of this week. Still time to register objections with your state elected reps if you have not done so yet. Bike JC has a great guide how to do it here:

A brief word from our President, Tyler Newcomb, about some of the worst aspects of this NJ e-bike bill, and what you and all of us need to do TODAY to stop it. @tylernewcomb.bsky.social @hudcostreets.org @bikehoboken.org @peopleforbikes.bsky.social @bikeleague.org @bcgp.bsky.social @transalt.org

Senator Scutari's grossly irresponsible e-bike bill has advanced again, despite being a knee-jerk reaction to 2 women being murdered by a man using a car as a weapon. It would criminalize e-bike riders and discourage safe and sustainable transport, and it must be stopped.

It’s no secret that improving mobility is my whole world—from my day job as a transportation planner, to my nonprofit advocacy work at @bikejc.org and @hudcostreets.org.

Whether you walk, bike, take transit, or drive, transportation affects us daily and has much room for improvement.

Why New Jersey Turnpike tolls were meant to disappear and never did Tolls rise 3% in 2026, extending a system born in 1948 with a promise that drivers would travel New Jersey’s turnpike for free starting in 1986.

As this explains, it's *always* been a patronage mill, and all promises that expansion will fix traffic have proven to be wrong. www.northjersey.com/story/news/t...
