For #LDJam, @rosekeller.bsky.social and I teamed up with Marcus and @flatfootsandfools.bsky.social to put together an ambitious narrative deduction game!
Decode foreign words, untangle relationships, and solve a complex family tree.

Thanks both. I guess it gets really technical if I'd like to find out what's causing the black screen when switching apps (so that I can tell devs how to avoid it 😠). I thought it would be related to the different screen modes.
In the context of videogames, I can still change settings in Borderless... but I get the 'flexibility' to change between windows in Borderless. But again, sometimes I can move the mouse to another screen in Fullscreen, so... consistency is 0.
😭
From the content creator POV, I have 2 issues with these two modes:
- Sometimes I can (or can't) take the mouse out to another screen.
- When switching apps (like from game to OBS and viceversa) the recording goes to a black screen before the switch.
Consistency is null. 🤷
What's the difference between 𝘍𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯 and 𝘉𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘸? 🤔

Uncle Lee's Cookbook releases on May 12, at 1 PM UTC. That's less than one month away!
It will be available on Steam, GOG.com, and @itch.io. All DRM-free, since DRM sucks. Entirely made by humans, since AI sucks more than DRM.

For those who don't like intensive story in puzzle game I added an alternative - a summary mode: the whole section is reduced to one sentence so player still can track what is going on but without any details. #indiegames #puzzlegames #puzzle #pixelart #adventuregame

💠 Lost Wiki: Kozlovka is a short but solid game, that delivers a compelling mystery. It's not super innovative but it has a great setting. Recommended for those who enjoy narrative and/or deduction games but, due to its low difficulty, specially for newcomers to the genre.
🔹 The story, while simple, is interesting and very well themed by visuals, music and sfx. The game is short (about 3h) but it doesn't feel rushed or extended for the sake of being longer, and difficulty wise it's generally easy. It also includes a choice at the end that leads to 3 possible endings.
🔹 At approximately half game, the map will be complete and no more entries are introduced, so don't expect the game to be about uncovering all entries. From that point, instead, the game focuses on developing the narrative, presenting a succession of reports that ask us to rethink what we know.
🔹 New entries are not unlocked by typing terms on a search box, but through hyperlinks on available entries. That 'network of entries' are represented on a map screen that also indicates if an entry has been completely connected to other terms, or we still have some more information to uncover.
🔹 Gameplay-wise, information can be grabbed (not collected) and placed onto a report card that we need to fill in to progress, which comes with access to new documents and initially restricted areas of the database. There's also some light password deduction to unlock specific entries.
🔷 Lost Wiki: Kozlovka is a detective/mystery game where one has access to documents (database entries, photos, letters...) relating to an incident occurred in an eastern European village in the 90's. The case was closed, but someone wants it reopened as not all questions were answered.

🔸 EXPECTATIONS: a database research/detective game.
🔸 REALITY: a short database research/detective game.
