Make sense to me, not a bad idea.
While the concept is welcome they messed it up by patenting it just like HP. Obviously they cover that under marketing terms. And the supposedly open source part will be under non-commercial license which disqualify it as open source (and don't really protect the sales but that's another topic).
I'm sorry to hear this. You are a great person, I know it doesn't solves your difficulties but your truly are. I send you a huge positive vibes. Take care.
Looking for a future where technology serves the interest of mankind instead of the other way around?
OSHWA is creating a future where safe, affordable, and plentiful open source medical hardware gets built for everyone.

Got this published after a final part fit check / material validation. I'll assemble the bits fully and glue later on and get some real photos included, but for now: Its live!

Very nice!

The 3D printer calculator with 4 values to enter and a calculate button in red. Under the calculate buttons appears the result in ug/m3
Under the total VOC results we have a list of the emitted chemicals with their ug/m3.

Josef Prusa standing with arms crossed between two long rows of shelved 3D printers in the Prusa Research print farm. Hundreds of printers with orange accents and blue/orange LCD screens line metal shelving on both sides, each in clear enclosures with ventilation ducting running overhead. He's wearing a black t-shirt and glasses, smiling, with a geometric tattoo visible on his left forearm.

We are so excited to announce the talks and workshop schedule for #OHS2026! Check out the lineup and see who is joining us from all over the world to talk open source hardware and maybe even register for one of the incredible workshops we'll have running on Day 2: 2026.oshwa.org/schedule/
I wish I had his talent but I'm another Greg Saunier :D
What did I sidetrack myself with completely today? well, you see... My logitech C920 webcamera is UGLY AS FUCK. aka stock. Cute right? printing a test fit jig currently.
I was lucky enough to get a quick glimpse. UI is easy, smooth and speedy.
While FFF goes close source the resin industry goes open source!
I love designing and making these 3D printed organizers. Low effort, huge reward. Am I weird?

preFlight logo. Similar to the Slic3r logo but with light blue and orange color and a rocket crossing it.
Showcase of the Athena perimeter generator compared to Arachne. The perimeters are better filled and more regular.
Table comparing Brick Layers with interlocking perimeters. The mechanism of this new slicer is based on X/Y variations and over-extrusion to compress plastic between the voids while. Brick Layers is based on Z variation. It claims 5 to 15% strength increase.
preFlight is a new open source slicer based on #PrusaSlicer but with deep rework of its internals.
- Truely 64bit
- GCode processing in memory
- Athena algo improving over Arachne
- Interlocking perimeters similar to brick layers
- Deeper #RRF integration

Can you do firmware upgrades offline now?
@infomaniak.bsky.social maybe you could help?
I think that's a good approach, better independence and maybe closer to the clients.
I see, I've never sold something on those platforms. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Why you think this acquisition is not good?
