if you made art this year, you did well. a sketch, even if it was scrapped ; a poem, even if it was deleted — mattered. you put thought to paper, you engaged with the creative alchemy of turning feeling to something tangible. doesn't matter if you weren't productive "enough." or good "enough."

mmm not doing great today, the past few days, but im dealing with it because there's no other option but to do so. slowly hearing the siren call of my depression habits calling to me from the waves.

The image is a six panel black and white comic. The first panel shows a young girl with messy hair looking around as a few notable memes from the early 2000's hover behind her, such as "keyboard cat" and "caramelldansen". The girl is saying "haha. Funny." In the second panel the same girl, slightly older now, looks around as more memes from the early 2010's slowly move past behind her, such as "nyan cat" and "doge" and other notable memes. She is saying "hehe" Panel three is zoomed out a bit more, showing more of the woman, now with even more memes from the late 2010's moving quickly behind her, significantly blurred. She is less enthusiastic now, saying only "hm". Panel four now shows her in the middle of the panel, bewildered as many memes from 2020-2024 whiz past behind her at a speed that has the images almost completely blurred. A second humanoid figure from the right leans in and says "Hey, have you seen that new meme?" Panel five shows a similar image, now with the girl looking around at the memes behind her in thought. In panel six she looks back to the figure to the right and simply utters "rizzler."

sorry for not posting here as much folks! i joined a couple discord servers and those have most of my attention now (that and writing more fic)

replies felt weirdly discouraged on twitter (at least to me) but I really recommend getting back into the habit of telling artists directly when you like their stuff. not even in an engagement farming way, it just feels nice. nobody's day is going to be worse hearing that you like their work

saw war of the rohirrim with my friend and it was pretty solid! there were definitely some weak moments but also some real gems... a nice, self contained story.
