I ran it in 2005 - my first ever race- intended to be my last. I hadn't a clue what I was doing & had only run 15 miles. My aim was not to stop & not to walk - I achieved just under 6 hours. Years later I have always assumed I could beat that time but turns out I prefer much shorter distances.
2005 for me!!
Yeah, Mozambique let me down - 98 97 99 79 93 = 900
85 96 100 73 100 - I either know my stuff or don't 😂 (Nebraska) =896.
I harvested mine from my secret Shropshire location last week and it’s now turned into several jars of pesto!
796 for me - totally fluffed Kazakhstan after a blinder on Aberdeen. Grandson 971.
Shaming
My just turned 11 year old grandson got 971. #grannyshaminh
I got 960 - my Grandson is going to love this.
Full house!
Ground number 92 out of current 92 league grounds.
English/Welsh League Ground 119 in total.
Bromley FC v Shrewsbury Town.
Sounds interesting and a role to which you will be well suited.
Quite proud of this as due to my dislike of heights, (even little ones) this is the first time I have stood upright on a trig!
Brow Point, Robin Hood's Bay.
Northallerton hospital. Not the next checkpoint we wanted.
Frank's lower leg started hurting at Shap (60 miles).
He continued to Kirkby Stephen (79 miles) but couldn't put weight on it.
The UTC at Northallerton is brilliant. No wait & a quick Xray showed no obvious break. Just got to rest.
Dammit.
Horrible people.
My favourite parkrun.
Frank at CP2 Shap (otherwise known as my car). 60 miles into Not the Northern Traverse.
Thank you.
There’s a fair number who are doing it. Two organised events with a total of around 100 and several others going solo.
At 8am this morning, Frank set off on his Not the Northern Traverse adventure.
I’m crewing for him. 190 ish miles Coast to Coast from St. Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay.
Ooo not seen the Elizabeth Davies one (Damo's arrived yesterday). Must look.
Wonderful! Where are they, please?
Done!
Are you ok to dm me your number and I’ll add you?
There’s a group of fabulous people who are organising and even funding it!
Yes there’s a separate volunteer group. They’d be very glad of help.
In case anyone on here was doing The Northern Traverse (anyone of the races) and still plans to do the route, please note that some fab people have set up an unofficial support network.
For more info follow Community Traverse on Instagram or DM me and I'll get you added to the WhatsApp group.
Genius idea 😂. I still have a handy t shirt.
We’re 60 miles from any coast but if we could do it in a sustainable way then we’d love this!
"Other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how was the play?"
So so sad for them. It must have been a horrible decision to have to make.
Frank was on The Northern Traverse and we were really looking forward to it.
