Low tide beach north of Scripps Pier at sunset. Ripples in wet sand form dark, parallel lines toward the ocean. One person stands alone near the shoreline. Sunlit cliffs and a few distant people line the right edge of the frame.

The USA Hockey team visited Prime Minister Mark Carney of Canada & he showed WAY more respect for these champion Olympians than Trump did.
That says everything.
A low tide beach at sunset with dark storm clouds breaking to reveal warm light near the horizon. Wet sand reflects the sky, a long pier stretches across the background, and a single dog runs along the shoreline in silhouette.

Can't fuckin' believe I'm doing this but here goes: Twitter is a mind prison, a true jail of career advancement. I stopped posting on there and within months I became the CEO of The Onion and I'm not kidding. Went back on last year, felt worse, then left again.
A watercolour painting of a great spotted woodpecker
I painted this Great Spotted Woodpecker around 3 years ago. At the time it was the best painting I’d done and I was sure it’d sell really well. To this day, I haven’t sold a single print of it 😅
Just goes to show, you never can tell what’ll be popular :)

Belated Lunar New Year meal.
As per Chinese tradition, every dish here has some kind of name that is good luck. 🍸
I got more graphic novels at the library yesterday. After ten days of reading a memoir, my first thought was 'I miss pictures' so gotta slow dose the reading books without pictures for a bit I guess? I got some fiction books that don't have pictures too, but yeah. I needed the artsy inspo.
Weather technology provides ample time to prepare for big storms like the one expected in New England today and tomorrow. This saves lives. If you are in a vulnerable area it's still not too late to prepare so you are not caught off guard. Stay safe out there!
