This whole Mandelson business could have been avoided if the PM had appointed him AFTER he was vetted and not BEFORE!

Does anyone agree with me that listening to TV/Radio talk shows is a bit like reading the front page of the Daily Mail?

Belated Happy Birthday 70s Guy but I don't think it was necessary to point out that Bowie is on the left!

La Nuit Amercaine was a delightful film and my favourites of the seventies.

Just watched a film titled Orphan: First Kill starring Julia Stiles. A prequel to Orphan, a film I haven't seen. Wasn't expecting much but it turned out to be an enjoyable slice of Grand Guignol with a plot twist half way that I didn't see coming.

Just listened to a recording of Peter and the Wolf on Radio 3. It was narrated by David Bowie! A real curio indeed.

No arguments with your 5 choices but The Wild Bunch will always be No.1 with me. I was in such a daze when leaving the cinema I was almost run over crossing the road!

Is it just me or do others find it difficult to warm to Kemi Badenoch?

This Mandelson vetting farrago smells a bit fishy to me. Beggars belief that Starmer had no knowledge of it.

Thanks. Fragments of the film are coming back to me now. I remember my reaction as generally positive.

Haven't seen this since time of theatrical release and I can't remember if I liked it or not! Help.

NUCLEAR. This could be Kryptonite for the Green Party. Do they forsee a place for nuclear power and will they retain the nuclear deterrent.

Just watched a film titled Passport to Treason starring Rod Cameron. British B/W b-movie of the fifties. Routine filler but Lois Maxwell(Moneypenny) was good and good looking too!

When Trump says he wants PEACE he actually means he wants PIECE, as in part of the action. He's a throwback to the 19th century robber barons but on steroids!

Hope he has the same effect on the pedophile protection posse. Time for them to be gone.

Just watched a film titled Brief History of a Family. A Chinese film about nothing really but still engrossing. Enigmatic denouement.

This is what Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth look like when seen through the spectacles worn in John Carpenter's They Live!

Those of us with a more enlightened outlook on life must savour our victories wherever they occur in these troubled times. One such is the defeat of the obnoxious Victor Orban in Hungary. The visit of hapless JD Vance made all the difference! Way to go JD!

Just watched a film titled Girl dir by Lukas Dhont. It was a Belgian film about a teenage boy transitioning while learning to be a ballerina! Sounds like a farce but it was in fact a serious film about a serious subject. I found it totally engrossing.

One of my ATT10 films of the seventies. Seen through the optics of today political corruption seems so innocent!

I've never seen WAOVW so can't comment. I was not aware of the antecedents of TAM.
