#OSR gang: are there any good rules out there for hiring ships? Trying to work out how much it should cost for a party of adventures to travel X days by boat. #OSE

Wyrmling woke me up early and went back to sleep. But good news: I can now do an hour of writing!
Just watched Stand By Me for the first time. My God, what a perfect film. And it's 90 mins.
Presenting THE UNFINISHED HALLS, a new adventure for Old-School Essentials! A flooded dungeon inspired by Piranesi and Darkest Dungeon. 25 keyed rooms, a player-driven water system, a wretched cult, and a horrible medusa. Enjoy! And please share! :)

I did a map! Very old-school . . . you can still see the graph paper!
The UNFINISHED HALLS are nearly finished. Hopefully publishing tonight on Patreon :) #OSE #OSR #dnd #ttrpgs
I'm hoping by the end of today I'll have inked in my map and have a draft PDF of the adventure on my Patreon :)
*sigh*
If your Kickstarter video/image is AI, I won't back it.
If your book has an AI cover, I won't read it.
If you're a public supporter of AI use for creative work, I will unfollow you.
I cannot stress enough how offensive I find AI use in the arts. It is outright theft, it is lazy, it is gross.
Indeed . . . I deliberately started with a level that I felt captured the 'essence' of the megadungeon, rather than the entrances. Then I'm going to fill out from there.
I've always thought it's a bit like that question in pop music: do you do the lyrics or the tune first? (I believe Elton John is the former and McCartney is the latter.) I try to focus on the fiction first, and for me, that means the map follows after. But it's not easy!
I think my counterpoint would be that you can up to your eyeballs in literary fiction and still very easily manipulated. And there are a lot of very clever people out there who read little except genre fiction. It's nuanced, I'd say.
I try not to bring up politics on here, but Trump's language today is literally genocidal. If that's not a line, I don't know what is. I'm paying close attention to my government's actions over the coming days.
Moved house over a year ago and only just found my webcam (as well as a copy of Raven's Purge for #ForbiddenLands). Woohoo!
What is the WORST official #WotC book for #5e?
The Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide was pretty lacklustre, and I didn't care much for the Magic crossovers like Theros and Strixhaven. Spelljammer and Dragonlance were massive disappointments. But was anything as disappointing as Vecna?

Yeah, I think you're right π Thanks!
Huh, my birthday is also First Contact Day. Neat! I must have forgotten that. Love that film.
Woah, Copic markers aren't cheap, are they
Not a bad shout . . . and thank you!
Thank you! :D
I've nearly finished the first levelβjust need a map! Here are my notes :)

Thank you! Very into OSE at the momentβmy current project is an OSE hexcrawl and megadungeon :)
I was wondering about Shadowdark . . . Quite a big investment here in the UK with shipping costs thrown in, so not sure about going 'all in' until I've tried it!
Historically 5e, but I've tried lots of things, and I'm kind of enjoying OSR style stuff atm!
Thanks :)
How are you finding it?
It's my birthday! And I have about $80 (Β£60/β¬70) to spend on #ttrpg goodies. What should I get? #OSR #dnd #5e
Is it me, or has the #Daggerheart hype really died down?
And another one: an #OSR interpretation of a water mephit. Not sure if this one feels a bit too '5e' ish.
I haven't delved into the sci-fi stuff much, but I reckon it's all largely intercompatible. Tbh, I think that's the biggest strength of a5e
Thanks!
