One lot in Windsor Park turns from one unit to two units (multi-generational now!).
This is the figurative infill density that was laying on the ground until housing leaders like @zoforaustin.bsky.social @kristaforaustin.bsky.social @paige-ellis.bsky.social stepped in. #atxurbanists
Anti-Muslim rhetoric from people in power does not stay online – it fuels fear, threats, & real danger in our communities.
This is about more than politics, it's about whether we allow fear to define who belongs in our state.
Grateful to talk to @annalissroy.bsky.social at @washingtonpost.com
I’m excited to support @poojaintexas.bsky.social (HD47) and Samantha Lopez-Resendz (HD50)! Can’t wait to see them both at the Texas House fighting for our communities. Join me for a special evening in their support!

Honored to have joined Starbucks workers here in Austin as they filed for their union election.
The right to organize is essential to workers everywhere.
I will continue to stand with workers at the picket line, the bargaining table, and especially at city hall.
Last week, Council passed parking decoupling, giving people more flexibility and helping lower the cost of housing over time. Looking forward to seeing how this shapes affordability in Austin. Watch here to learn more.
Grateful to have @jamestalarico.bsky.social support behind my re-election campaign!
James and I have worked together on solutions for Texas; lowering costs, strengthening public education, and helping people afford to stay in the communities they love.

Proud to pass parking decoupling this week, building on years of work including former CM Chris Riley’s leadership. By separating the cost of parking from rent, we’re giving Austinites more choice and making housing more affordable.
Major props to Council Members @zoforaustin.bsky.social, @kristaforaustin.bsky.social, @paige-ellis.bsky.social, and Natasha Harper-Madison for sponsoring these items. They all passed with supermajority support!

The new building will fund new sidewalks and bike lanes on all sides and will contribute more than $3.3 million to the Affordable Housing Trust Fund. It's right next to UT campus.
BIG urbanist wins !!!
Today, Austin City Council voted for resolutions to:
- Unbundle the cost of parking from rent
- Explore parking maximums near transit
- Create new "missing middle" zoning districts to allow more density in neighborhoods
- Legalize small-scale neighborhood commercial uses
Honored to recognize Parking Reform Month in Austin.
From eliminating parking mandates to building a more affordable, people-centered city, this progress reflects years of coalition building and community advocacy. Grateful to those who led before us and those who will carry this work forward.

The Trump Admin is sending ICE agents to airports to “help” with TSA staffing shortages caused by the partial gov shutdown.
Let’s be clear: ICE will only make this situation far worse by sowing fear, terrorizing families, and making travel less safe.
