Yes - it's horrible. The Washington State Library is the recipient of $3.9M in the IMLS Grants to States program, & Washington libraries, universities, tribes & museums received $23.7M in the last 3 years from IMLS grants. At a time when we need libraries more than ever, this is just devastating.

And a book recommendation! "What you are looking for is in the library," by Michiko Aoyama
I love libraries 📚. My family and I spend a lot of time there - picking out books, attending programs, volunteering. And today is a special day to support your local library - it's Library Giving Day! In Bellingham, you can do so here: bellinghampubliclibrary.org/library-givi...
2 skeins of yarn from Gauge Dye Works, 1 skein from Polka Dot Sheep Fine Yarns, and 3 yarn stitch markers from Apple Yarns.
Today's 🧶 joy: @gaugedyeworks.bsky.social and @polkadotsheep.bsky.social with stitch markers from @appleyarns.bsky.social. This is exactly what I needed today - can't wait to start some new knitting projects. Thank you so much to the small businesses and amazing people that make this magic happen!!!
Today's errands: picking up an Ardunio set & ice cube tray from my Buy Nothing group, a 🧶 & crochet hook donation for the kids' school from @appleyarns.bsky.social, & library books plus a sewing book from the Friends of the Library shelf. I'm loving leaning in to my local community! #bellingham
Thank you! It's absolutely gorgeous!!
