It's just for stress relief. When I did take it seriously when I did comms and made less at work or was in college or was between jobs, I would dedicate like 2-3 hours to strictly doing my non-personal art a day to keep from burning out. Idk. Just what worked for me.

Not a comic artist, but I do art and am dabbling with rigging as a hobby as a full-time medical worker (5 8s): I only have time to draw on weekends really if I want to, you know. Get enough sleep to not be a cranky bitch during my shifts lol

But in all seriousness, it's a hobby, that's all now.

On one hand, I'm in a much better place than I have been in for a long time. On the other, I am no longer an understimulated creature looking for even the smallest taste of neurotransmitters and enrichment so I am not as good at being an artist anymore 🥴

As bad as it probably is to say, I'm almost a little sad my current job doesn't make me as horribly mentally ill as my old ones did lol I miss having motivation to actually draw things since it is stress relief for me.

For context: I work a lot with foot/ankle surgery, pediatric ortho and sports medicine and have hours in podiatry. So lots of stuff where I have to see feet.

You know, you'd think someone who has to look at feet so much for work would make for someone who could draw them 🫩 apparently not.

And of course it's sports med cause it was initially diagnosed from a sports injury. But yeah can't wait for that discussion during lunch that day lol

Guess who gets to see one of the providers she works for on a day she works for him cause her knees got so bad it interferes with sleep and function 🥴 15 years of chronic knee pain is a bitch lol

Mix of personal experience and working in orthopedics. Different pain meds work better for joints for different people, but yeah. If you're having a hard time with naproxen or ibuprofen, acetaminophen is an option. There's also Diclofenac but idk how easy it is to get as a pill instead of gel.

I'm (not really ope) sorry for the lack of fanart from me. I'm in the process of working on a large personal project, as well as working 40 hours a week 🥴 I'm also frankly very burned out from fan works in general right now, having done it almost exclusively for years 😶‍🌫️

Like I'm so proud of myself! I had so many reservations about doing this from poor experiences in the past with both education and working in a medical field. But I got through it, and not only did I actually finish, I did okay. I can't even describe how big this is for me.

I'm officially done with the class portion of my program! Been a long and kind of tiring half a year, but I did it 😭👌

I was so anxious about having to go back to school, especially in an accelerated program but I actually did it while landing a good externship!

It's not horrible persay, not like the embroidery software, I think I am just very impatient about clicking on shit for hours trying to finagle my way through menus. But boy is it testing my patience lol

Every now and again I discover a new least favorite computer program. Today I found another one 🙃

I don't have any post worthy art, I'm working on a rather large project ATM that is taking all of the time I allocate to drawing, but I am enjoying working on it so that's all that matters 👌
