Have you been asked by a medical provider recently for consent to have an "AI" scribe record your visit? Us, too. And we have **thoughts**

An extremely full bowl of Fruit, including: pineapples, ginger, apples, pears, oranges, lemons, limes,
Oh, did you buy a juicer recently, Hannah?
(Not pictured: beetroot, celery, spinach, carrots, mint)
I think Josie talks about ‘why do we even say lore — it’s just story, and when you conceptualise it as story you’re much more functional in how you develop it
All of the interviews are disdainful of 'lore' I think haha.
Well done, mate, hope you’re proud! I also had minors and my advice is do them asap bc it’s exhausting to come back a year later and then find out all the extra submission admin! Have fun celebrating 🎉
Lovely looking film. Follows two artists in Walthamstow as they try and raise money/get support for their whole street to get solar panels. Economic/Social/Working & Environmental activism are intertwined in a way the Greens now get, and for which this feels v on point. vimeo.com/1092092090?f...
@alphachar.bsky.social seems up your street!
Really, what can’t, conceptually? If you’re a dinosaur all human things can be juice. If you’re a black hole drink up that lovely space juice.
Y’know luckily I don’t like coffee so much there’s never any in the house.
A photo of my desk. The spine of the second edition of Writing for Games from the previous skeet is on my screen, and nestled in the shelves directly next to my monitor is the first edition of the book.
eyyyy!!
Yesssss
I bought a juicer. So many things can be juice. Did you know how many things can be juice?
Empire of AI and The Mechanic and the Luddite were big references for this section btw, but in arguing that AI is also an ableist technology this book is super useful link.springer.com/book/10.1007...
The spine of the forthcoming second edition of Writing for Games by Hannah Nicklin. Bright yellow with a blue and pink partial image across the centre. A small figure with a backpack walks below the title and Nicklin’s name. Crc press logo in the lower part.
Also!! A brand new cover design by @angusdick.com — retains the spirit of the original but also feels like an HD upgrade! Here’s the spine as a teaser (expand for v long image)
Well, I just sent in the last new part of the second edition of Writing for Games which was a fairly thorough but also radical refusal infused ‘note on AI for writers’. Taking bets on if the book will come out before the bubble bursts.
Put this quote on every single local election leaflet: bsky.app/profile/erne...
Fair! I'm in the UK so my means of watching it means I'm getting it in one block...
Absolutely brutal line

Right! Weird gaslighting that Santos absolutely doesn't need.
So confused about people who seemed positive on Dr. Al-Hashimi in the Pitt s02, before realising that to many people, an eagerness to use AI and allow it to erase the need to actually resource the labour it will poorly replace *isn't* an instant bad-person marker.
brb just gonna install a government and a premier with no ideological basis or practical programme for governing and whose main purpose is suppression of the left at a time when fascism is the dominant insurgent force, wish me luck x
Almost missed the 3rd anniversary of The Videogame Industry Does Not Exist being published but thankfully social media reminded us of the cake @hmberents.bsky.social made to celebrate its launch.
After all that I just donated £50 and sent an email to five of the ceramicists saying ‘this is either 2 entries each or 10 for all depending on how it works’ and only only went and won one of them! Thanks for helping and nudging x
I love thinking about comedy in games as more than just thin and quickly dated memes, instead respecting it as a craft and thinking about how to translate it into the rhythms of a player’s hands. Coal Supper folks do a great job of expanding their craft there.
I had a lovely mentoring chat with a Flemish game dev this week and had cause to recommend this GDC talk which I also mentored from the lovely devs at Coal Supper and I feel very neat and happy about that. gdcvault.com/play/1035090...
Veneers are the quickest way to break suspension of disbelief in tv and film for me these days.
I thought it was lovely they do little dances at half time or whatever.
I learned about Banana Ball last week and since then I think everything I have seen which I thought was Baseball may in fact have been Banana Ball.
Yeah I have a lot of pals in universities in the UK and Australia similarly being degraded and devalued. It really sucks.
