It’s been a Vietnamese intensive week for me I had 5 Vietnamese meals out of total 9 for the past seven days and I’m considering having viet for dinner tonight to make this number even bigger.

Only complaint is the presentation (a lot of carrots on top don’t look very appealing). They have about 30 different types of rolls and I’m looking forward to trying something different next time

I remember the funniest thing for me when I visiting shanghai 15 yrs ago our host chatting with driver in Shanghainese and I thought they were talking in Japanese all along and maybe driver is a Japanese. When he helping me with luggage I was super surprised this JP driver speaks chinese so good😭

i have a friend living in chaoshan region and their language is a mix of cantonese and hokkien (heavily leaning on hokkien) and when he speaks with his mother on voice chat I can barely understand 5% of their conversation😭

Reminds me of Taiwanese film A City of Sadness a scene where a group of chinese refugee speaks cantonese and shanghainese-wu in one room and someone has to translate all in hokkien

I kinda regret skipping that restaurant with all kind of filo combo meals in Melbourne (Inasal Express). This one (Smoky Cravings King Cross) is the closest I can find and their chicken inasal was indeed tasty but looks like Melbourne is a better place for filo food…

Hope my PH oomfs enjoy the bushi expo and I am enjoying the filo food
