What a great win for Butler men's basketball today!
All of my political views and policy ideas have basically collapsed to "Punish the Villains" and I mumble it to myself every time I see a news article these days

if mamdani gets this in every interview, republicans should always be asked to respond to the 76% of Black voters who think their party is "very" racsist
Zac Taylor is a coward
Reds season over
Bengals season almost over
Time for my basketball team to start breaking my heart until baseball season starts again
Goddammit
I love sports, this is fun
Sick to my stomach that the President being mixed up with a horrifying global network of pedophiles is considered a 'voter issue' and not something the whole world needs to know about and people need to be prosecuted for.
Only reason anyone would want people to ignore Epstein is if you're involved
Worst time to be born a Reds fan was when I was born lol fuck me
Richest country in the history of the world. Btw sorry about your cancer we totally know how to treat but you gotta die penniless in a gutter because you aren’t one of the twenty people we’ve decided to dig up all the riches of the earth for. Also we’ll murder your orphans if they’re gay btw
Maybe important to note it was the disruption in air travel that Democrats couldn't stand and not, you know, 40+ million people not knowing where their next meal was coming from.
Statement from DNC Chair Ken Martin on Senate Shutdown Vote. For 7 weeks, we have stood firm and spoken with one voice: we must save health care for millions of Americans. Donald Trump has made it impossible for families to make ends meet, forcing them to choose between putting food on the table or paying their medical bills. The last thing Americans can afford is their health insurance premiums doubling overnight. Let me be crystal clear: Donald Trump and the Republican Party that orchestrated this betrayal of the American people are responsible for the men, women, and children who will suffer because they cannot get the health care they need to survive. These are the same people who rushed to vote for tax breaks for billionaires. It is clear whose side they are on. As this vote moves to the House, I stand with Dem leadership as they refuse to rubber stamp the full-scale Republican assault on Americans’ health care and I am proud of the majority of Senate Dems who opposed this vote.

Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous
We’re gonna eat you. With forks.
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
‘But I’m on employer health insurance not a marketplace plan or Medicaid’ my friend when providers/facilities/etc aren’t getting these reimbursements they will radically reduce services or close.
Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.
This isn’t very hard, folks.
None of this is my fault, don’t doom in my mentions, don’t be a bitch, kick the shit out of everyone in our way until you see daylight, hope this helps
Just engaged my senator in keeping with the great tradition of American democracy (threatened them to the limit of the law and told them “don’t be a bitch”)
We'll see, but the degree of immediate blowback, and how many other Dems immediately jumped onboard trashing it loudly, makes me think this might end up a failed attempt to cave. Overestimated their ability to hold enough Dem votes.
Thing about being spineless is you can be pushed either way.
I think Senate folders are significantly underestimating how fucking angry Democratic voters are at them
I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.
We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.
A vote for this bill is a mistake.
No health care, no deal.
At Thursday's meeting, they told their caucus colleagues that they now had ten votes to re-open the government in exchange for no real Republican concessions. At that, much of the rest of the caucus went ballistic, and some of the supposed ten said that, in fact, they were not willing to vote for any such deal. More from Robert Kuttner The leaders of the proposed Democratic cave-in, Sens. Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen, both of New Hampshire, and Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, then backed down. Only after that did Schumer go public with his proposal to reopen the government in exchange for a one-year extension of the ACA subsidies, along with a bipartisan commission to figure out a long-term solution.
However bad you think Schumer is, he is worse

Yes. How do Dem electeds not understand this dynamic? After all these years?
Then why are you helping him?
i do not care about "the future of the democratic party" as discussed by professional-class bozos who cannot see beyond their next client. i care about not living under a military occupation that is disappearing my neighbors
