My newest, soon-to-be-released rip is of the OVA Cinderella Express, of which the old rip (left) sorely needed an upgrade. It is based on a manga from Hikaru Yuzuki, who also did Minna Agechau. It's quite the wild ride! Stay tuned.

I got a new player... Thanks to its shorter laser wavelength, this player is much better at reading through disc scratches and rot. I may be able to encode some discs that were previously unusable before.

Haven’t really mentioned it here on Bluesky, but over the past couple years I’ve been working on/off on a scanning project for an obscure 1980s anime Oh! Family. I’ve obtained a number of 16mm rush prints for the series and I’ve been gradually getting them scanned for the past while.

My first completed game of 2026 was Ganbare Gorby! for the Sega Game Gear, starring everyone’s favorite Soviet leader. You operate switches and create bridges to deliver what people need, all while dodging enemies who try to hit you, shoot you, or steal the food. A very fun time!

It's the JPN BD. I haven't seen what the FRA BD looks like, though the store pages said it was 16:9.

While the HD master for Harmagedon/Genma Taisen is matted to widescreen, the LaserDisc release is open matte with a lot more shown on the top and bottom. Despite being made for theaters, I found many shots to be better framed for 4:3 than widescreen. Stay tuned!

This isn't bad emulation, the game really does just sound like that.

This game rocks. Seems they subcontracted Graphic Research to do the music since it shares composers with many Vic Tokai developed Mega Drive games, so the music is terrific!

lol, the Ashita no Joe NeoGeo game misspells José Mendoza's name as "Hose Mendose." Contrary to popular belief, this was released outside Japan (in Europe), but it seems they didn't put much care into it.
