It mitigates the Knuckles portion super easily, and after Knuckles you just have Sonic and hes arguably the easiest section

Please get the Knuckles air necklace, go back to aquatic mine, set the water to the lowest level (level 3 in the attic part of the stage) then go to the lowest cage area with it connecting to water, it'll take you straight to the air necklace

Mod the PC port, you can get HD cutscenes and also Japanese cutscenes if you desire (as well as a bunch of qol stuff like HD models, better UI, etc)

I think it's worth at least one playthrough, or if you're playing on PC, playing Shadow the Hedgehog: Reloaded which cuts down mission requirements and endings needed for the true ending
