Unifor's national leadership team met with nearly 50 Alberta local union activists tonight to discuss the fightback strategy and make plans to be provincial election-ready throughout 2026.
The back-wages owed by Amazon to unionized workers in B.C. could easily surpass a million dollars. It is clear that this company will need a mediator to force them to agree to a first collective agreement.

Thanks to B.C. Labour Minister Jennifer Whiteside for making the trip to Harrison this weekend to share an update on the govt's efforts to protect B.C. jobs from the tariff attacks. But the crisis is getting worse and Unifor will continue to work with the Eby govt to do more.

Unifor Western Regional Director @gavinmcgarrigle.bsky.social gave Media Council delegates updates on strikes/victories, Unifor's role in political change across Canada, & celebrated the rise of worker-owned news outlets—"when journalists and communities take their future into their own hands."
Unifor members negotiating their first collective agreement with Amazon met with B.C. Premier David Eby and Minister of Labour Jennifer Whiteside at the Unifor offices for a meet and greet on October 16.
