When I worked in Japan decades ago, each car was served by 4 attendants. After your fill, they’d run onto the road to stop traffic for you and your last view would be the 4 of them bowing as you left!

I worked in Japan for a decade and ate a lot of grilled meat. The locals have a great way of ordering - basically you fill up on the cheaper cuts and then finish your meal with a bite or two of very good meat.

After moving into my home in the city, I’d often sneak out to the alley in pjs to put trash in the bin. Several times, car lights went on a couple of doors down. I thought nothing of it until a grown kid living there was shot. Seems he‘d been selling drugs in the alley. He lived and alley is quiet.

That’s probably why it hurts less to see them use this one. One of my neighbours flies the provincial flag and I just choose to assume they’re happy to be here.
