These cruel methods were introduced nearly a century ago. Today, modern, animal-free methods exist offering a better way – one that protects people and the planet without inflicting suffering and death on animals.
✊ It’s time to choose science without suffering.

In laboratories around the world, thousands of fish are denied this natural movement. Instead of migrating, they are confined and used in outdated toxicity tests like the Lethal Dose test where they are exposed to chemicals until they are dead or dying.

On World Fish Migration Day, we celebrate the incredible journeys of fish moving freely through rivers and oceans: a vital cycle of life, guided by instinct and survival.

But not all fish are free.

Animal testing is everywhere. But it doesn't have to be. As we shift away from animal testing, there are methods that can and should be used to figure out whether chemicals are safe.

Advancements in non-animal methods are accelerating the shift away from animal testing for chemical safety assessment.

Although Iceland's Minister has pledged a bill to ban commercial whaling, hundreds of whales risk being cruelly killed this summer before a bill is even introduced for debate.

MYTH ❌ Most drugs deemed safe in animal studies also work well in human trials.
FACT ✅ Over 90% of drugs that pass animal tests, fail in human trials. Imagine if cars worked only 5% of the time? Manufacturers would go bankrupt!

“Welfare standards” on fur farms are a myth.
As long as animals are kept in cages for their entire lives, deprivation and distress are unavoidable.
This is not a question of improving standards.
It is a question of ending a system that cannot meet even basic animal welfare needs.

Laying down the law, hens could get to spread their wings | Euractiv Europe's caged laying hens have been getting a raw deal, now lawmakers are scrambling to end outdated animal welfare practices

As @joswabe.bsky.social explains: “We have a situation right now where the majority of hens in the EU -nearly 62%- are already kept uncaged in barn, free-range or organic systems. However, when you look at the No. of hens still in cages at the Member State level, there isn’t a level playing field.”

Could the cage age finally end for laying hens in Europe? 🐔

There may be hope on the horizon for millions of hens across the EU. A recent public consultation on the modernisation of EU on-farm animal welfare rules shows overwhelming public support for stronger protections.

If Europe stopped farming foxes, mink and raccoon dogs for fur, it could save nearly 300,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year, plus 11,800 tonnes of air pollution.

Another reason why fur farming has no place in Europe. 🐾

Fur is not just cruel, it’s also a climate problem.

Producing 1 kg of mink fur generates over 309 kg of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent, making it 31 times more climate-damaging than cotton and 25 times worse than polyester. Fox and raccoon dog fur have similarly high footprints.

This decision sends a clear message: cruelty has no place in fashion. Innovation, sustainability and compassion are shaping the future of the industry.

We are at a tipping point. This is a moment where change is not only possible, it’s happening.

🎥 Watch the video to see why fur farming must end.
