I’ve had not one, not two, but three different drivers stuck being loaded for over 6 hours at different vendors. They’re only allowed to drive for 11 hours a day, so how in the world are you going to hold them for over half of that??
Dakota and I are consistently scoring in the high 60s/low 70s with Intro 1 so I’m going to try moving up to 2 and 3 for next month’s shows. I’m also thinking about doing a horsemanship class so I can get some more detailed comments on how to adjust my position to better suit dressage
That’s what I’m thinking. On Friday it’ll be 6 weeks (so double the turnaround time) so if she hasn’t given me an answer by then I’ll just cancel it

Scores came back from one of our show series and Dakota won her very first Division Champ award!! We also unofficially finished our Certificate of Achievement for PAC 🥳
Sometimes I get so discouraged when showing Dakota but then I remember dressage goes against literally everything she was taught for 10+ years. One of my biggest horse related goals this year is to celebrate the little things and give us both some grace. We’re trying, and that’s what matters most.
I’m going to let him run around the arena some tomorrow. I know it’s not ideal at all, but better than nothing I guess. I’m going to bring a book and let him hangout for as long as I can
The friend’s horse I’m taking care of hasn’t been out all week (or any horse at the barn) bc it’s been “too wet” and they don’t have any dry/sacrifice lots. So these poor horses were cooped up when it snowed last month, and now this week. I feel so bad for them

I found a show at WEC Ohio in June that offers dressage classes and just requested to book the perfect AirBnb only 4 miles away. I really hope everything works out 🤞

Perfect, perfect girls
My mom is the one who helps me film videos for online shows. She always refers to Dakota as her first grandchild and tells her to be good. You can hear her talking to Dakota in the background of some of the videos too. I love it
Yesterday: got plowed down by a friend’s horse and everything now hurts.
Today: got yelled at/talked down to by a coworker for someone else’s mistake.
It’s only Tuesday and I’m over this week.
My lil 14.3 ex western pleasure horse just got a 71.63% in our most recent dressage test. She’s only been doing this for less than a year after wp for over a decade. I’m so happy with her

About once a month/once every other month I get frustrated with Dakota’s bridle path and hack at it with scissors. Today was that day. I regret nothing
Jk I decided that we only live once and we might as well go. There’s about a 50/50 chance that Dakota is either perfect or loses her mind. We shall see!
Having a particular horse is all fun and games until you can’t go a clinic you want to attend bc explaining her buttons to random people is impossible. Like yeah, she has western pleasure fundamentals. But she also does her own thing and I can’t put into words how to ride her
