Post your favorite film from the year you turned 18
I think this is probably still my favorite Tarantino.
2009 honestly seems more interesting for its stinkers, such as:
- Year One
- X-Men Origins: Wolverine
- Terminator Salvation
- 2012*
* actually very fun, but also too silly to take seriously

@alexanderfromspace.bsky.social once told me a story about how you tried to burn the ticket for 10000 BC on your stove
I'm legitimately worried for "razor thin Senate majority but one of them is a Nazi". Like how do the Democrats come back from that?
Trusting metrics alone means no longer trusting expertise
A lot of city libraries still have DVDs. Not the same vibe but you can still browse. Highly recommend.
Hundreds of children are dead. "Freaks" isn't even adequate. They're fucking monsters.
I mean import loops are luckily very easy to detect
I'm certain a Garfield + Evangelion intro would have gone hard in 2011
Interesting. I always use absolute path, which is largely the standard at my company. I don't have a super strong opinion; I think there's inherent tradeoffs to both options.
The last week has been a rollercoaster but I can't help but be floored by my community. So many people have reached out to offer their condolences and support. And more than a few sharing their own similar experiences, which is honestly very uplifting. I'm lucky to have so much love in my life.
I'm one of those sickos who never gave it up. There's definitely downsides compared to streaming, but also a lot of upsides. The biggest one being once you have it, it can never go away.
Look, I fill my time with endlessly curating lists of stuff I'll watch at some point in the future, which is obviously superior
I think, Geoff, you and I are the strange ones. Regardless, I will continue being put off by this behavior.
One thing you might not have considered is that despite the fact that I agree with you on this, a very large number of people actually enjoy rewatching things over and over.
Thanks, Biden!
I recently had the displeasure of attempting to read Atlas Shrugged, so honestly this thread gives me some pleasure. I kind of agree I don't think it works as a full novel per se.
I haven't been able to find another source for this, so I'm not sure if this reporting is exactly accurate
This is beautiful, Jay. Ori was so full of life. I know I'll never forget her.
We have 60-80 person meetings where directors or VPs love to do small talk. I'm sorry, is this really worth the time of everyone here?
This is hard to say. Early this morning, we lost our baby.
We had done so much to get ready for their arrival. They were loved so so much by us both. But unfortunately their life was all too short.
Our grief is massive. We both need time and space to be able to process and heal.

AI is anti-worker! This is literally what they are saying!
He's a decent Senator, but he doesn't have the juice to level up
Does this mean you are now the First Among Equals in Outkast
A friend of mine works in computer forensics and thinks AI makes it much worse
my uncle works at Nintendo and he told me that the next Mario movie is going to be clips of every Mario game ever made set AMV-style to Nirvana songs
Apparently hotel reservations in this area are quite low so it's looking like it might be a flop lmao
Bro. have you seen the new Star Trek? It's on Tuvok. It's literally on Qo'noS. It's on Guinan with ads. It's literally on Neelix. You can find it on Tomalak. Dude it's on Elnor. It's a Riker original. It's on Gowron. You can go to Gowron and watch it. Log onto Gowron right now.
