With a decent chance that Rochdale or York will end up with 105+ points and not get promoted, surely it’s time for the National League to get (at least) two automatic promotion places plus a playoff?

(I’d say 3+1 though)

Thanks! I *think* I tried Canva a while back and didn't get on with it. A second vote doe Adobe Express - will try it - and will look at Designer too...

I'll have a look. I find using Acrobat for anything other than "looking at a document" to be a right faff, but maybe Express is more user-friendly...
(BTW thanks for the RT, has generated a couple of helpful replies!)

Thanks. What I liked about PageMaker was the ability to move things around using maths rather than mouses. Which is probably why I'm not a good designer for anything beyond a coffee morning poster...

Thanks. Although I'm not sure a programme which calls itself GIMP is to be trusted........

Hivemind question... I use Microsoft Publisher to whip up quick posters/leaflets for Town Hall events. It's not as good as PageMaker (RIP) but a million times better than trying to design on Word. Publisher is being withdrawn in the Autumn 😖; what can I use instead that's simple and quick to learn?

The vetting was not the only reason the appointment of Mandelson was wrong. It wasn't even the main reason.

Surprised by Q1. The number I first came up with would still have been 25 out, then I went the wrong way in adjusting

One Labour official who knows Starmer well said that while McSweeney, a protégé of Mandelson’s, wanted to send him to Washington, Starmer was never that close to him.

“Keir didn’t even really like Mandy, and suspended his judgment as he does so often,” the person said. “At that point, the machine took it [Mandelson’s appointment] as his intention and does what the British state does, which is bend the process to the signal it thinks is being broadcast from the principal.”

Strong agree, the best set of the specialist “Brain Of”s I’ve tried. (Brain of Gaming may have been sensational for all I know.)

i am a neutral and i want arsenal to win the league because human rights abusing petrostates are worse than annoying fans, and i don't understand how this isn't a consensus opinion.

We Read Johnny and the Bomb Podcast Episode · Eleanor & Alasdair Read That · 19 April · 43min

Another pleasant time with @eleanormorton.bsky.social and @misterabk.bsky.social and a classic children’s book. Extra layer of interest for me this time as Johnny and the Bomb is the first of their set texts which I have not read.
