Tim Cook now realizes that bribing an elected official is a crime. A crime that needs to be prosecuted by the next administration.

Screenshot of a tweet by The Bulwark (@BulwarkOnline) quoting Ambassador Pressman (@AmbPressman) explaining how Hungarian opposition leader Magyar defeated Viktor Orbán by framing Orbán and his Fidesz party as a criminal organization and connecting that message to rural Hungarians' lived experiences. The embedded video shows a man speaking in front of a bookshelf.
We should take the same lesson and apply it to the criminal enterprise being run by Trump and his family. Then boot them from power just like voters just did to Orbán.
Something like this will have to happen in this country once Trumpism is defeated. In the absence of accountability, the world will rightly assume that it will happen again.
The problem is that there’s more republicans than democrats. So we actually didn’t do our jobs. We didn’t elect enough democrats. So Congress can’t check the executive effectively.
When Trump took office Iran had deal with US that blocked any work towards nuclear weapons & Strait of Hormuz was open. Trump's "deal making" restarted Iran nuclear program & pushed them to close the Strait, so now he is threatening genocide to get partially back to where we were before he started.
Statement from House Democratic Leadership on Donald Trump's threat to kill a whole civilization.

developer.jetpack.com/hooks/rest_a... I think is the hook you need to make sure it gets synced and indexed. This is not a good UX. Will look at getting a better solution in place.
I'm a bit confused at the moment because I thought we sync all public post types.
Accountability is very important. Without it, the people who do bad things are just emboldened to do more bad things. You vote for a capitalist, and you'll never see accountability. If you vote for a capitalist from either party, all these criminals walk free. Divine justice is fake. It's up to us.
At least Ahab had a clear and well defined goal
Honestly I don’t think the rest of the political universe is conveying how much Trump and Hegseth are flailing. Each whipsaw change in direction is reported, sometimes critically, but it’s the accumulation of insanely reckless course changes - sometimes 180 degrees in 12 hours - that’s important.
A reminder that last week, Pam Bondi accidentally released a Jack Smith memo revealing Trump’s motive for stealing and illegally retaining classified documents.
A shark head out of the water. Its mouth is open. It looks like it's screaming.

It was just 24 days between when Zuck went on Rogan and talked about how "never again" would he suppress info based on gov't demands (misrepresenting those demands) and when he texted top gov't employee Elon Musk to say "we're all set up to take down info you want removed."
I wrote about it here.
I recognize that this will not be a popular opinion, but I think it's true. And I hope people will read the whole thing before they start yelling at me based on the headline.
The US is approaching a newly dangerous phase of its war against Iran. The US is signaling ground operations that would yet stop short of a full scale invasion. Obviously this whole situation is really bad. But I want to point your attention to something specific. The US is taking about …
We will soon get to a critical mass of the tech industry experiencing and acknowledging the productivity multiplier that is Claude Code.
What happens when your job is just telling AI agents what to do and checking their work? Tech will be the first through the gate on this.
occured to me today that the Iran War was as unplanned and incompetent as it is partially because, if Trump was killed by a strike from an opponent with devastating airpower, every member of his team would be scrambling to make a deal with the enemy and take power
"No Kings" organizers & Indivisible plan to use their lists to build support for General Strike on May Day.
Dozens of unions are supporting the effort, too.

Levin: This is the largest protest in Minnesota history… The next major national action of this movement is not just gonna be another protest. On May 1st, across the country, we are saying no business as usual. No work, no school, no shopping.
Amazing.
Great thread to follow throughout the day.
I had the same experience this week. Awesome dashboard built by a PM. Scared the crap out of me about how it was accessing data and working. It was actually not too bad after chatting about it. Cool prototype.

This is a pretty incredible list of things Trump has done since No Kings II.
