Pride is resisting heteronormative domination of our lives, not settling for being "tolerated."

Who is this?
"The rise of extreme wealth is one of the clearest signs of this imbalance. In 1987, billionaires held wealth equal to 3% of global GDP. Today this tiny elite, just 0.0001% of the world population, owns the equivalent of *16%* of world GDP in wealth."
Revealing that the Guardian apparently couldn't actually find any examples of the ruling having "changed lives" positively. Those quoted in support simply express political agreement with it rather than being able to point to any tangible life benefit, in contrast to those quoted in opposition.
In addition to the hallucinations, it's pretty scary how much misinformation / disinformation it just absorbs and conveys back in its output (www.youtube.com/watch?v=78pH...).

I was also surprised. It made me think that the comments about their writing are largely overblown.
What tf you say to me? That's it. It's squabbling time.
A good 🧵 by Alejandra on Singal's latest drivel. @franamery.bsky.social and @aurelmondon.com also have a paper that gets at many of the same issues (doi.org/10.1177/0038...). It's well worth reading. Of course Singal wants both to deny the strategies used and downplay his own role in proceedings.
JCJ already had a go at self-exoneration: bsky.app/profile/ostr...
look, there's lots of reasons that they could be showing conversion practitioner distress—you have to look at the comorbidities.
And she won that case! It was ridiculous.

Anglo-world philosophers seem to have perfected the ways in which one can conduct anti-trans activism while denying that there is anything anti-trans about it. Jon Pike's recent complaint against one of his colleagues is one case in point. New blog post from me.

- that John Lewis advert with the boy dancing
He does that in *Unweaving the Rainbow*? It's been so long since I read it, and I don't remember him doing that specifically. But it wouldn't surprise me.
"I sort of love how LLM comments sometimes tell entire stories that nobody asked."
There is documentation-shaped output next to the answer-shaped objects.
A tweet by @heterodorx (17 October 2023): > There are some decisions that children lack the maturity to decide for themselves. I'm starting to believe atheism is one of those.
Have you heard about ROGD?
That's right, Rapid Onset God Denial.
There's a lot of conservative politics rooted in the fundamental idea that accommodations of difference are "special treatment" at constant risk of being poached by the "undeserving", and that suffering is both an inevitable fact of life and virtuous.
It's a contemptible social rot.
The idea of "potential" here is also bit unclear. Can you clarify what you mean by that?
They don't need to though.
Of course it can. Why would you insist otherwise?
That "state" (I don't think that's the best word here) can change though?
It's a contemptible thing: downplaying it as "just talking," as though it's entirely inconsequential to the person's life.
I've been through conversion therapy.
People will try to downplay today's SCOTUS opinion or defend Kagan and Sotomayor signing onto it by saying it only protects talk therapy, not physical abuse. But that (a) ignores Gorsuch's dictum comparing conduct and speech,
They don't seem to understand that those things are not on equal footing, at all. One treats LGBTQ lives as lesser and pathologises them and the other does not.
"Look, I said, 'All he wants is this One Ring. Why can't he have it?' It's but a trifle that he fancies. And this radical left group—I think they call them the fellowship, very bad people—won't give it to him! They have, what, three for the elves? Seven for the drawf-lords? He just wants one!"
It becomes the one thing they try to weave into every conversation.
