I fully agree on travel. Japan and various parts of Europe are at the top of my list, probably some places in the Caribbean and then New Zealand. (Tokyo Disney!!)
But then in between each trip, back to Monterey, CA, and just sitting on the beach to rest and recenter before the next adventure.

The number of people I've seen run red lights directly in front of me (where if I hadn't been paying attention, would have been disastrous for me) these past two weeks alone is more than I can recall seeing all year. It's terrifying.

Ads are the absolute worst. I will do anything and everything I can to block them.
It it helps, I used uBlock on Firefox and blocked the box that shows ads, so it's easy to hide those on a computer at least without paying. I don't use mobile at all for it, so I can't speak to that.

If an author does abandon/delete the work, it's much harder to claim any copyright, leaving it completely open for the people behind the bots to steal the writing to train whatever GenAI system they're building without consequence.
I don't know if anyone else has said something about this, but it reads as a specific attack to get writers to abandon their work or delete it entirely off AO3.
