“Stasis” is a portrait painted by the artist Zara Alfonso, and is the first piece in her series about invisible illness. A portrait painting of a girl with skin so pale she’s almost translucent, her lips are tinged blue and she gazes upward through seemingly unseeing eyes. Pale moths and winged insects cover the expanse of her face and body, blending into her skin in places.
“Medusa Portrait” is a portrait painted by the artist Zara Alfonso. A portrait of a young Medusa who looks peacefully towards the viewer, her hair is flowing mass of thick iridescent dark indigo snakes tied up in a head wrap.
"Winternight Stories” is an oil painting by the artist Zara Alfonso, done for the Magic: The Gathering Tarkir: Dragonstorm. An orc stands in the middle of a small crowd, telling a story of the battle against dragons with a swirl of watery blue magic.

I used graphite to sketch out my compositions, and watercolour and acryla gouache to refine my colour scheme. I love getting to share the rough stages of my Magic work!

I love getting to paint large celestial beings and little tiny people, so this illustration was a real joy for me. I wanted it to feel as whimsical and freeing as possible, as though you're dancing with the whale.

Thank you Kim! I was halfway through when I started regretting my decision immensely! It all worked out but I will say, straight lines are not my forte and this is nothing by straight lines xD

Your work is exquisite!
The artwork shows a scene with a city and an autonomous bus in the center. There are passengers in the bus. Some are sitting and some are standing. The bus has dome-shaped roofs. A man in a long coat is standing outside the bus holding a briefcase. Another man is selling some fake or stolen watch behind the bus. There are buildings and bridges in the background with a few more characters. All the characters are skeletons. There are some autonomous mini cars around the artwork. The artwork is densely decorated with patterns and tiles. It is mostly green, mustard, red and blue.
"City of Dreams". A commissioned illustration I drew for @niedermeyer.online a while ago. Still one of my favorite pieces! Haven't shared it here on it's own yet and thought I should! Closeups will be in the comments.
Why does this sunlight feel so alienating? Who is watching me inside of it?
I didn't know this would be the last time the sun would set.
Destruction illuminates the horizon just the same.
The view seemed insignificant, but it was just a precursor.
Sometimes I enjoy painting the mundane with slight distortion.
Nothing is wrong but everything is.
