Also, Mari taps his fingers when he's thinking about something. He's relentless when he has a project and having to stop for any reason chafes at him. The finger thing is a stim. He doesn't even realise he's doing it.

Rayne is also quite small, for a guy. He's 5' 6.5" (and I hear him saying 'five foot seven!' in a tetchy voice now!) which people tend to comment on when they first meet him, since he projects a much taller image onscreen and in photos.

Mari's eyes are a cool, frosty blue that initially leads Jake to think he wears coloured contacts.

Mari from Elemental Evidence was definitely maths and computer science. He grew up wanting to be an astronaut, as did Jake, who majored in psychology. I think Jake probably did some sport clubs after school but only to delay going home. 😪

Mari is a total atheist and he never uses religious terminology, even casually. So he'd never say "oh my god" or "go to hell" or anything that invokes a deity. Which is not to say that he doesn't cuss people out when they piss him off.
