LaPlante is better known for her character DCI Jane Tennison one of the first women DCIs in the Metropolitan Police Service that was adapted for TV as Prime Suspect (1991-2006), starring Helen Mirren. Cop novels are a good way to pass the work day.

Okay then. Today I finished Above Suspicion by Linda LaPlante. The first of her Anna Travis books. A young Detective Sergeant's first case on a London murder squad. Bog standard (as the Brits say) police procedural. Enjoyable but a bit rough as expected as a first outing for a character.
