Just finished it now. That was amazing. Well done, just a fantastic game all around, kind I'm almost afraid to recommend to people because I felt too damn identified here. Still amazed at what was achieved in both games.

I'm home from work and finally able to play it. Insanely hyped.

It's controlled by the d-pad in your controller instead of the analog. The trigger is technically the run button, but the way it's built, you can run in a straight line by only pressing it.

I feel like survival horrors could entirely justify tank controls if they did what Shenmue did, which is make possible moving towards any angle you wish with the joystick, but make trigger running in any direction a thing of maximum ease. It's the best case of split controls I've ever seen.

Finished The Excavation of Hob's Barrow. Excellent point-and-click Victorian horror with a smidge of Lovecraft. Feels like an Eggers film at times. Fully recommended for slow, cosy horror fans. I comment @cloakanddaggerg.bsky.social and can't wait for their next game.

Had it on my account for a while! Time to give it a go.

I love it, didn't even know about this version of Double Dragon. Ever since playing The Crimson Diamond, I miss this sort of limited palette aesthetic. Might try and find some of this era's stuff on GOG.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is such a cool game. Following the guy who killed your whole clan into the afterlife, so then you can join forces with your entire dead clan to raid his fortress is just the raddest thing you can imagine.

It knows you're there and would like to offer you a fulfilling experience of an overly detailed Norman Reedus face.

Adventure game masterpieces. Wish Kojima went back to making these kinds of games.

Finished Princess Peach: Showtime. While a game that's much simpler in design than Nintendo's usual core titles, it's still very impressive on its variety of styles and gimmicks, and it delivers a ton of fun with the theater play sets. Hoping more Peach games can be made.

I'm hoping to see more games from @juliaminamata.bsky.social in the future. Give the game a chance, because it's the kind of gem you won't find anywhere else these days.

The art is some of the most beautiful I've ever seen in a game of this style and all of it makes for a very rewarding experience.

The characters are all very charming and a perfect fit for a classic mystery story. Motivations are set clearly, variety abounds, and the design and scale the game allows for is a perfect mix of welcoming and deep.

Due to this, dispite having bought The Crimson Diamond on launch day, I wanted to get to it while appreciating its main inspiration. And the game is EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE with the level of detail and precision it allows from a player.

The Colonel's Bequest is a murder investigation game from 1989 based on Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None". While it impressively boasts an ongoing mystery where multiple investigative routes are possible, it took me a while to play it with the respect it deserves.

I've just completed something I've been meaning to do for over a year: My playthrough of The Crimson Diamond by @juliaminamata.bsky.social. An amazing investigation adventure game in a classic style. I played The Colonel's Bequest right before so I could properly appreciate the style.
