They're in much, much smaller towns than St. Cloud, too. They are or have been in VERY small towns throughout MN -- Detroit Lakes (10K), Perham (4K), Pequot Lakes (3K), and many more. None are anywhere near the metro area, they are terrorizing the entire state.

I'm in a far northern suburb of the Cities, the end of the metro, & they've been all over here. My parents live in central MN & said ICE was in Long Prairie, a town of 3,500 people, almost 60 miles NW of St. Cloud.

I have co-workers who live outside of Minneapolis that said ICE is going into suburbs as well as the rural areas. Some an hour outside of Minneapolis.

One told me her child's daycare is not allowing the children to go play outside during recess because of the ICE operations.

They sat for hours with untreated pepper spray injuries and were laughed at by ICE agents when they asked for medical attention, or even a bottle of water. They were released hours later with no explanation. Their personal belongings were returned except their cell phones, which remain with ICE.

I asked Alice if she felt like they were targeted for being queer, especially after ICE murdered Renee Good right next to her wife. She said it didn’t occur to her shortly after, and she told Sofia “You know, I just realized that they probably knew Renee was a lesbian before they shot her.”

Alice and Sofia were taken from St. Cloud to the Whipple Building in Minneapolis, about an hour's drive away. Three others were in the van, including a badly beaten Somali man who told the crying women, "God is with us. If God is with you, you have nothing to fear."

"I'm screaming for help. I'm saying that I'm a US citizen, that I was just there to record. But they [ICE] ignore me, and then they throw us in the van.”

Within moments of arriving to protest a massive ICE presence in a shopping mall with Somali-owned businesses, armed agents got out of a car nearby. When her gf Sofia asked what the guns were for, an agent shoved her.

“I say, ‘Don't shove my fucking girlfriend,’ and he shoves me,” Alice recalled.

Alice, 25, had never protested before, let alone in the face of state-sponsored violence. Though St. Cloud is seen as a red city, she said it's more left-leaning than surrounding towns.

Once ICE violence erupted in Minneapolis, she wanted her immigrant neighbors to know she had their backs.

NEW — ICE violence has spread well beyond Minneapolis, with agents landing in small cities like St. Cloud. I spoke with Alice Valentine, a local queer trans woman, who protested ICE on Monday and was pepper sprayed, beaten and jailed as a result, along with her girlfriend.

Why did the news say fireworks were thrown? I've not seen any video of fireworks. The reporters of this news station are trying to make the residents of a normal American neighborhood seem violent so conservatives can justify using CS gas on an infant.
