‘They’re erased’: When trans people are misgendered after death, the consequences extend beyond paper The way people are accounted for and processed after death in regard to sex and gender remains ‘in the Dark Ages’ – often representing a loss of self that weighs heavily on the minds of trans people.

This is one of my articles that I'm most proud of — it's from 2023, so it's a treat to see @thebuckeyeflame.com give it some new life and new readership!

Trapped and alone: Fear of ICE is deepening postpartum isolation for immigrant mothers Doctors say newly postpartum people need medical care, sleep and the ability to rely on friends and family for help. Immigration crackdowns have made that support impossible.

This Democrat built a farm-to-politics career. Now she’s working with MAHA moms. From healthy foods to a clean environment, Rep. Chellie Pingree has found common ground with the movement that has made some key environmental issues mainstream.

Since coming to Congress, I’ve worked hard to channel my passion for organic farming into common-sense policies that support farmers, hold corporations accountable, and ensure that every family has access to nutritious food.

These ideals are in natural alignment with the emerging "MAHA" movement.

The Epstein files document what many women researchers have long experienced but rarely seen laid bare so starkly: exclusion operating behind closed doors, shaping who gets funded, invited, mentored, and taken seriously. How many of these networks, norms, and gatekeepers remain in place?

The boys’ club: How Epstein’s influence shaped the exclusion of women in STEM In one email, an AI researcher suggested it’s “hard to be brilliant if you are worrying if you look fat or why another woman hates you.”

I wrote about the Epstein files and what they tell us about men in academia.

In a field where climbing the career ladder is only possible through a combination of luck, mentorship and networking — the files show the ways sexism and misogyny still hold women back.

Women's voices have been curiously absent from the media coverage of the Epstein files. Kudos to @jkutzie.bsky.social for publishing this excellent piece. If you consider yourself to be an ally please take a moment to consider the impact of the ecosystem created by men at the top.

Proud to have been interviewed for this piece! I reflected on myself as a young scientist and now the responsibility of mentoring the next generation of scientists: all we have ever wanted is for our ideas, creativity, and talent to be taken seriously.

Epstein tracked #MeToo fallout and advised accused men behind the scenes New files released by the Justice Department show Jeffrey Epstein joking about being in a "pariahs club" and discussing the fate of powerful men who had been accused of wrongdoing.

NEW: I spent hours combing through the references to #MeToo in the latest tranche of Epstein files. I found Epstein closely tracked the fallout of #MeToo, joked about being in a "pariahs club," and advised men accused of misconduct behind the scenes 19thnews.org/2026/02/jeff...

“We needed time to be childfree so we could work. We needed to be bringing money in so we could have our house back in order,” Crabtree, who works as a therapist, said. “The limited child care was really making it challenging. It was limiting my ability to see clients.” @jkutzie.bsky.social reports.

Climate-fueled disasters like the LA wildfires and Hurricane Helene decimate infrastructure, that includes child care.

So one woman did something about it. Silke Knebel started a crisis line to connect families with FREE child care, so parents can focus on recovery.

ICE violence against women is increasingly visible — and largely untracked The killing of Renee Nicole Good — and the viral video that followed — underscores the forceful tactics long used against marginalized women.

A mother shoved to the ground in front of her children at an immigration courthouse. A woman pulled from her car and handcuffed on a busy street. A child care worker dragged out of her workplace. A pregnant woman yanked by one arm through snowy streets. 19thnews.org/2026/01/ice-...

I need emergency preparedness people to grapple w/ the reality of our Rx drug system, where “having extra on hand” is damn near impossible w/ most insurance plans.

I have ONE allergy pill left & am only able to pick up my Rx today, due to insurance (can’t reorder early!) and pharmacy supply chain.

I thought about this a lot when reporting this story and hope to do follow up reporting on how difficult it can be in regards to birth control and prescriptions. thx for sharing your experience!

Preparing for a wildfire or hurricane? Don’t forget water, documents — and your birth control. Few states include sexual and reproductive health supplies in emergency checklist recommendations, a new report finds.

The Center for Biological Diversity released a new report finding that most state emergency preparedness checklists fail to include basic sexual and reproductive health supplies.

Advocates and mutual aid groups are filling in the gaps.
