Note my emphasis on “younger years.” I lived in Luxembourg for part of 1993 and 1996, and in 96 and a few years after I rode with a club that went on an Alps trip. Rode Galibier, Alpe D’Huez, Croix de Fer, Glandon (sort of), Col d’Izoard, Col d’Agnel, and others. What a great opportunity.
I had the chance to do the real thing a few times in my younger years. One time I felt like a dog at the bottom and could barely hang with my fellow riders. I lowered my head in defeat and then noticed I was in my big chain ring. Oops! It got better after that!

I think I misunderstood your post. I thought it indicated that Magic Castle was damaged, but I now assume you meant mandatory evacuation. Regardless, the situation is horrific and I’m sure like me you have many friends and colleagues impacted. It is unfathomable.
