YES! It really is good to have their number handy! Put it in your phone. Under Rehabber in case you forget their name in emergency situations! If you're anything like Mama, & I think you are, she'd forget where she put the number in those situations. Plus you can text a pic in case you aren't sure.

And one more tip - if you find a (o)possum caught in netting and who has been there so long, the net is starting to grow into the bridge of his nose, grab that (o)possum and call a rehabber STAT! Then that (o)possum can be adopted by a Mama like I have! That's me!💙💙💙💙💙

Ooooh. That is a good question. Do you know where the nest is? Are you sure there's no internal injuries? Maybe put it back in the nest? With that one, I'd call a wildlife rehabber or a local vet who takes in wildlife for more info. Very good question! I wish I had more knowledge about that one!

Hi! I know, Mama is horrible about helping me post. I'm doing great! We had a tornado warning scare last night, but nothing happened and we are all good! I decided to stay in my den most of today, after all of that crazy stuff. Anyway, Mama asked me to post this important info, so here you go! 💙💙💙💙💙

Yeah, true. And now Mama and Dad found out that Cranberry Turkey (now called CT) has a raccoon neighbor (Bandit Thee Chicken - BC for short) who tries to steal her food! CT isn't having it. BC is afraid of CT, lol! A raccoon afraid of a (o)possum! Now there's more in our family! Ugh! 😲 Pics later.

You're right. I just don't like sharing. Mama says I'm spoiled! I already share Mama with my human siblings, my dog sisters, and my chicken siblings! Isn't that enough?

They only carry in utero for 11-13 days, but they can have 20 or more. She only has 13 nipples, so she only carries 13 (or less sometimes) in her pouch. The babies will stay in there, literally attached to a nipple (their upper palate closes around it) for about 2 months.

...fight for a nipple in her pouch! She has more babies than nipples, so only the fastest and strongest survive. 😰

This is Mama. Her tummy is actually pretty big! I did check her pouch, and it's still empty. I know what a fat opossum looks and feels like, from Waffles and his sister (RIP Sweet Ellie Bean), but her little tummy is hard and big. I figure it won't be too long until those dime-sized babies...

Mama figured out she lives under our shed/chicken coop. She said she's going to start feeding her more often, because she's going to have babies. I'M MAMA'S BABY! This has been a bad, rainy Saturday already. 😫

MAMA CHEATED ON ME! This morning, Dad found the outside opossum, Cranberry Turkey, in the chicken run, eating chicken food. He came in and woke up Mama and she went outside in the rain, to see her. Mama said she's pregnant (not even in her pouch yet), and she brought out some of MY food for her!
